  Need more Helpful Staff

  The location was very good, being just one block away from a major street that had a free tram around the downtown. Unfortunately the but the staff was very lacking in helpfulness & knowledge. We were not given enough towels or toilet paper, and when we asked for them, the staff showed up with wrong items. They obviously don’t know the difference between a hand towel and a bath mat! We also were given a coupon for complimentary drinks from my Hotels.com reward status, but every time we asked the front desk for our drinks, they could not give them to us, because they had to bring them to your room, and they could not leave the front desk, because they did not have enough staff to take care of any guests! Otherwise, our room was spacious enough and the hotel was quiet at night. Given the location in an alleyway where there are a lot of restaurants, they all close up by 10pm. We were given a discount coupon card for each day to get breakfast at a cafe next door, which was very appreciated.

  Fawlty Towers experience in Melbourne only missing Immanwell!!!

  SORRY is the easiest word here. Complaint after complaint with SORRY the solution.Check in time was delayed. SORRY YOUR ROOM ISNT READY.Room card didn't work. SORRY SOMETIMES THIS HAPPENS.TV didn't work. SORRY WE DONT HAVE ANY SPARE ROOMS OR TVS SO WE HAVE TO WAIT FOR MAINTENANCE TOMORROW.On arrival the room temp was 17 degrees. I started to shiver!!! SORRY IT WILL TAKE TIME FOR THE AIR CON TO WARM THE ROOM.No clean towels left. SORRY FOR INCONVENIENCE.My early morning call at 4.30am didn't happen but it did the next morning when I didn't need it. SORRY SOMETHING MUST HAVE HAPPENED TO THE SYSTEM. (Maybe you put in the wrong date!!!!)Once all the issues were addressed I liked the cleanliness, safety and location of this hotel.As long as you forgive the front office staff for their Fawlty Towers management then staying here is fine. It is clean and comfortable (although showering in a bath can be an issue getting into and out of the tub).The location in Melbourne is great

  Friendly staff, comfy rooms and smack bang in the middle of the CBD! For the price, this hotel is ideal if you want to explore the CBD and all the amazing food nearby! A little outdated but for the price, no complaints.   Don't choose this hotel! Whilst location is okay staff are incompetent, disorganised, some just plain rude. Rooms are dated, cupboards broken, air conditioning panel broken (stuck on 25°c so you sweat all night) and there is zero view and minimal daylight coming in your window.We booked a double room and was given a twin, we politely asked 6 times during our 3 night stay to join the twin beds together, they said it would be done every time, although one staff member was very reluctant to even listen to our request. It never happened! To cap it off they charge your card $100 (not hold details like any other hotel) for mini bar usage ... there was not even a mini bar in the room! 2 days later we have not received our refund for the non existent mini bar.   Brilliant location for a modest hotel

  Not a flashy hotel but 24-hour service desk excellent, room was a good size with a comfortable bed, good shower, decent tv set up for streaming. Room was cleaned well each day. There is an I house restaurant but I didn’t use it. Main plus was the location down Equitable Lane that runs from Collins street to Little Collins Street very close to Elizabeth Street. Great access to trams, trains and the CBD. Would definitely stay there again.
