  Was looking for accommodation for AFL Grandfinal and found this hotel. Advertised as 1km from MCG, very quaint little hotel. Hotel is a fair distance from anywhere to go to dinner, shop, sightsee (Hungry Jacks at end of street). I had read reviews there were new owners and they proudly confirmed this on arrival. We were given our room key, easy to access. Windows were left open however a bird had access and was not a one off. Bathroom had bird faeces everywhere, on basin, in bath, on floor, on bed linen. Alerted two different staff (one cleaner, one reception/manager) nothing fixed. Will not recommend, will not use again. Better off back in city and use Uber.

  Great location but needs attention

  Great location in Richmond. Lovely coffee shop at the front. The rooms themselves are nice and clean but the bathrooms really need to be updated. We had to change room because of window not closing properly and broken tiles in bathroom. The lobby , stairs and landing needed a good vacuum. They were absolutely filthy. Staff not overly friendly.

  I've been here a few times ( 3) with my partner. The first time it was good, clean nice amenities. The next time, not so good. There were holes punched in the walls, the a/c was broken and the carpet filthy ! I walked out of the shower and a man was just leaving my room ! When I opened the door to see who he was there was a girl standing at my door giggling !!! I asked her what was going on but, she couldn't speak english This last time will be the last time. It seems the place is getting worse, no cutlery, no crockery ( not even a glass) the linen comprised of 2 towels , no extra blanket or pillows, no bath mat. No milk for tea or coffee.. and then there was the regular visits from a cat ! Coming in and out of a window that wouldn't close. I like cats but, I'm allergic to them !! It's almost like they were too lazy to clean / service the place properly... We paid good money to stay there as it was close to the hospital I had to go to for surgery.But we were ripped off !!

  Dear Management,I had a superior King room booked 22-34 Room 10. This room was not superior in any way and did not reflect the images in the website at all.On arrival I was able to check in early - however on inspecting the room I returned to reception to say I was not happy to stay.The room is dirty, in state of disrepair with blood stains on the carpet and cracked mould covered tiles in bathroom and toothpaste dribbles all over the bathroom basin cabinet that was swollen with water damage. The tap dripped constantly and there was mould everywhere, it was not safe to stay in this room. In addition to this:- This building is a construction site and was actively being worked on in all the rooms surrounding me, this meant the entire area was very dirty and noisy. In fact as far as work place health and safety is concerned this place should be closed for renovations. It is a construction site.I did not feel safe to stay there and especially not as a female.The unsafe locks in doors and the blood on the carpet, was very concerning. Following this I was then faced with the inconvenience of needing to secure new accommodation in a strange city with no transport during an already unsettling time with a visit to Melbourne to see my very sick father. I am requesting a full refund of the amount paid but have not heard back from Comfort or management or the hotel.

  Pretty Tragic

  Despite the reviews here we thought we'd give it a go for various reasons - location and parking being the main ones. Unfortunately, the reviews are accurate. The place is a tragedy from the time you walk in the door and are (not) greeted. Our non-smoking room could not have wreaked more of smoke if it tried. Although it had been updated in recent times and there were some good quality fittings, they were negated by some old junk like leaving the old bathroom door that was stiff and wouldn't close, along with the cupboard doors. Although a king bed, it was ordinary with bad pillows. Internet just didn't work. The bathroom and shower were probably the only highlights. Generally quiet unless like us there are some people arguing/fighting down the hall for about an hour at 3am with no apparent management intervention. It's just very unloved and very poorly managed, yet could be so good. Sad - and a bad reflection on Comfort Inns/Choice Hotels IMO.
