    Very satisfied with our stay

    rating29 Apr 2026

We have stayed previously at Crown Towers and Crown Metropol but had never stayed at the Crown Promenade. However, they offered a deal that felt too good to pass up, so we decided to try them out. Based on the price paid, we found the room to be more than satisfactory. The access to the casino too actually felt closer and easier to us than accessing it from the Metropol. The only glitch in our room was that the mini-bar and fridge were already missing several items when we checked in. I didn't want to get stiffed (charged) for those, so I just rang housekeeping and let them know, and they did actually come and replenish the items quite promptly, which was appreciated. Would I stay here again? Absolutely.

Average stay at the Crowne promenade. From the moment we walked into the foyer we were underwhelmed. Arrived at about 12pm and proceeded to the check in desk, totally understand check in is from 3 but wanted to drop our bags off and see if our room may be ready. Walked over to the check in counter and the employee told me “there were no rooms ready, she didn’t have time to look but knew this as people had only just checked out”. She did not ask for my name just told me I could check in from 3. We left and returned later for check in. Room was average, blinds were broken, window shelves were dusty, carpet was stained. Good location with everything at Southbank on your doorstep and easy walk into Bourke st mall or MCG. Handy to walk through to the casino/shops via the footbridge that link the hotels.Pool was nice, pool attendants not too friendly and made you feel like an inconvenience. Overall good location but that’s about it.

For conference attendees only, not for holidayers (unless you love a casino)

    rating27 Mar 2026

Hotel co-located with a conference, otherwise we would have stayed elsewhere. Rooms are very good, although we found getting service difficult on one occasion, where we requested room made up between 10:30 and 17:00 and had to call several more times to get it done after we arrived back to find it not done. Don't expect any in-hotel amenities apart from a small express coffee place. No concierge, no restaurant, no bar--this is not for holiday travellers unless you love a casino, which is next door under the sister hotel. Very poor value in my opinion. High room rates with very little attention to paying guests' comfort. Sterile atmosphere--clean but impersonal. If you're interested in seeing anything other than the inside of your room or the casino, find somewhere else.

    Mineral water is not Complimentary!

    rating26 Feb 2026

We are a family of 8 who travelled to Melbourne to spend Lunar New Year together. We booked three rooms from 17–23 February 2026 and an additional room from 18–23 February. Jeannie assisted us during check-in and was very pleasant and helpful. We initially had trouble locating the fourth room booking, but Jeannie was very patient in assisting us. Eventually, we were advised to contact our third-party agent, and we managed to retrieve the booking.Upon checking into my room, I noticed bottled mineral water placed in the fridge. Most hotels provide complimentary bottled water; if it is chargeable, there should be a price indicated next to it. To be certain, I called the guest services hotline to confirm whether it was complimentary. After being informed that it was complimentary, I shared this information with my family members staying in the other rooms. On our second night, when we returned to the room, I noticed that no new bottled mineral water had been replenished after housekeeping. I called guest services again to ask whether this was normal and whether I needed to call to request it. I was told that I would need to call to request the water. For the subsequent days, we called to request mineral water for all four rooms. At no point were we informed that it was chargeable, nor were we given any bill to sign to acknowledge that it was chargeable. On our last night, 22 February, when I called to request water again, I was then informed that it was not complimentary. I was beyond shocked to learn this on our final night of stay. The manager on duty, Trang, called me and I explained the entire situation to her. I requested that they retrieve the voice recording of my first call, when I had specifically asked whether the mineral water was complimentary. After their investigation, she informed me that they would waive all mineral water charges for all four rooms. As a gesture of goodwill, she also offered to send three additional bottles of mineral water to my room. I politely declined, stating that since I was now aware that the water was not complimentary, I would not accept it, and I thanked her for the offer. On 23 February, we checked out early at 6am and were instructed to drop our keys at the express check-out counter. However, on 24 February, we received an invoice via email charging us $14.57 for three bottles of mineral water.I am a frequent traveller and travel at least once a month. I have never encountered an issue regarding bottled water before. This experience was so unreasonable and disappointing that I feel it should be shared to warn other travellers who may be considering staying at this hotel. We are still waiting for an update from the hotel as will be sharing the updates.

Overall not worth the price, lots to improve.

Arrived to a 45min+ queue to check in, madness. Reception then tells me they’re out of kings and I have to have a twin. Go to the gym, most of the machines are out of order. Come back and my rooms power is out. Internet disconnects twice a day and requires manual intervention. TV is very old and doesn’t have streaming services.Great breakfast, great housekeeping staff that go the extra mile, great location. Elevators are fast and reliable.
