    Not too bad overall.

    rating11 Apr 2026

We stayed here for several nights and some things are good and others not so good. Starting with the good points.1. The dinner we had was excellent and although pricey it was worth it. 2 it has old world charm3 excellent indoor heated pool4 surrounded by botanic gardens and next to the Werribee zooAnd the not so good.1 . The road into the property is unsealed and really poorly maintained 2. The heritage rooms are quite small3 the dining room has very little atmosphere and the carpet needs replacing. So my advice is stay in the deluxe rooms, do not have high expectations of the breakfast but come here if you are looking for old world charm. Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park, responded to this review Dear Andrew,Thank you for taking the time to share such a balanced and thoughtful review of your recent stay. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed your dining experience, the charm of the mansion, our indoor heated pool, and the beautiful surrounds—including our proximity to the gardens and Werribee Zoo. It’s wonderful to know these elements helped shape your visit in a positive way.At the same time, we appreciate your honest feedback regarding the road access, room sizing, and the atmosphere within the dining space. Your comments have been noted and will be shared with the relevant teams as we continue to refine and enhance the guest experience. While our heritage rooms do reflect the character and history of the property, we understand they may feel more compact, and your recommendation of our deluxe rooms is certainly a helpful insight for future guests.Thank you again for your feedback—we truly value it and hope to welcome you back again for another relaxing escape.Warm Regards,Guest Services Team

Disappointed - owners cancelled our booking

    rating22 Mar 2026

We booked our accommodation in September 2025 through Booking.com and this was accepted. Our booking formed part of my 60th birthday gift from my husband. He thought it would be ideal for me to experience this spa hotel, especially as the architecture is old which I personally love and it has a good reputation and is located outside of the city. On 20th March 2026 we received an email indicating that our booking for 11-13 May 2026 was going to be cancelled. We were given the option to relocate to their sister hotel in Melbourne city. We choose this hotel because it was not in the city. We contacted the hotel directly and advised them that we don’t want to change hotels and asked the reason for this cancellation. Their response was “operational reasons”. We feel this is an unacceptable blanket reason, frankly it tells us nothing. What does this mean. Have they cancelled all other bookings as well. Did they just get a booking for a longer stay and did not have capacity to accommodate without cancelling our booking, we do not know.We are due to fly to Australia in April so this last-minute cancellation has caused significant stress and anxiety to us both as we have now had to alter our travel plans and find other accommodation in the area of this hotel at last minute. We have now booked new accommodation but because they cancelled so late we have had to compromise on what we would have liked because the selection was limited due to booking so close to our travel time unless we were prepared to pay an additional 300-400 + Aus dollars. We also had a reservation for 4-5 May 2026. We have cancelled this as we have no confidence that they would honour this booking either. All we would say to travellers considering booking this hotel is beware. Clearly there is a reliability issue. We won’t be booking this hotel chain again. Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park, responded to this review Dear Cambs_travel186225,Thank you for taking the time to share your experience, and I am genuinely sorry for the disappointment and stress this situation has caused—particularly as your stay was part of such a meaningful 60th birthday celebration. While cancellations of this nature are very rare, they can occasionally occur due to circumstances that impact our ability to safely and properly operate the hotel as planned. That said, we recognise that this does not lessen the disruption caused to your travel plans, nor the difficulty in securing suitable alternative accommodation so close to your arrival date.I’m also sorry to hear that this experience has affected your confidence in your additional booking, and that you ultimately chose to cancel it. That is certainly not the impression we ever want to leave with our guests. Please know your feedback has been shared with our team, as it highlights the importance of clearer communication and more proactive support when situations like this arise. We truly regret that we were unable to welcome you as planned and that this experience has overshadowed what should have been a special trip. Should your travels bring you back to the region in the future, we would value the opportunity to restore your confidence in us.Warm regards,JarvisAssistant Front Office Manager

    Bitter disappointment

    rating07 Mar 2026

What an underwhelming high tea experience, certainly not what you would expect from such a magnificent mansion. The only benefit was the free flowing prosecco, but that was it. The sandwiches were dry, the hot food didn't come out at the beginning but when the sweets were nearly finished and they were lukewarm. The vegetarian and vegan options were lacking in savoury and sweet but charged the $99. Certainly not value for money. The gardens are worth a wander through. Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park, responded to this review Dear Jane W,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent High Tea experience at Lancemore Werribee Mansion. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the gardens and had the chance to appreciate the beauty of our grounds. However, I’m truly sorry that your High Tea did not meet your expectations. Your comments regarding the timing of the hot food, the quality of the sandwiches, and the variety of vegetarian and vegan options have been shared with our culinary team so we can continue to improve the overall experience for our guests. We value your feedback and hope that you might consider visiting us again in the future, as we are continually working to enhance both the food and service to ensure a memorable experience for all guests.Kind regards,JarvisAssistant Front Office Manager

Avoid if you want to rest and relax

    rating21 Feb 2026

Shocking, came for a night away to escape enjoy the gardens. Instead the music for a wedding they are holding is blaring and will not be wrapped up until 1145. Dirty room, wet floors, noisey and overpriced. Definitely would suggest avoiding. Not impressed at all. Couldn’t even enjoy the gardens due to the weddings. Very disappointed Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park, responded to this review Dear Charlotte,Thank you for sharing your feedback. I’m very sorry to read that your stay did not provide the peaceful escape you were hoping for. While weddings and special events are part of the experience here, noise levels should always be managed with guest comfort in mind. I regret that the music disrupted your evening and prevented you from enjoying the gardens as intended.I’m also concerned to hear about the condition of your room, particularly the wet floors and cleanliness concerns. This is not the standard we expect, and your comments have been shared with our housekeeping team for immediate review. We understand how disappointing it is when a planned getaway does not meet expectations, and we appreciate you bringing these matters to our attention.Warm regards,JarvisAssistant Front Office Manager

    Mansion Hotel, peaceful oasis

    rating08 Jan 2026

Beautiful building in magnificent surroundings. Lovely helpful staff. Great breakfast. The bedrooms are a bit disappointing, they are in the newer building and quite dark and a bit old fashioned. Ours overlooked the dusty car park. We paid extra for superior, so we're surprised at this. Very comfortable bed and decent quality bed linen. The swimming pool and steam rooms are lovely. We did the complimentary tour of the mansion (owned by Parks Victoria) which was really interesting. The gardens are quite special. Very peaceful break. Guest Relations, Guest Services / Front Office at Lancemore Mansion Hotel Werribee Park, responded to this review Dear fromnotts,Thank you for sharing your experience. We’re delighted to hear you enjoyed the mansion, gardens, and amenities, and that the team made your stay even more enjoyable. It’s also great that you were able to take the complimentary mansion tour.I’m sorry that your room didn’t meet your expectations, especially given the upgrade. Your comments regarding the room location and décor have been shared with our team for consideration. We’re glad overall you had a peaceful and comfortable stay, and we hope to welcome you back in the future.Warm regards,JarvisAssistant Front Office Manager
