    Very Bad Experience

    Firstly, I want to make it clear the hotel (value and cleanliness) is Good. I often stay here when I’m traveling to Melbourne for work trips. Unfortunately, last night, while I was in my room, I received a call from the receptionist asking if I was smoking. I politely informed the receptionist that I’m a non-smoker (I’ve never smoked in my life). He then proceeded to accuse me of smoking, saying, “Well, there’s smoke coming from your room, sir.” I insisted that I’m a non-smoker and that it must be someone else. He continued to insist that it was coming from my room, despite the fact that I was alone in the room. As a non-smoker, I firmly denied any involvement. I even invited the receptionist to come to my room and check for himself if anyone had been smoking. However, he never arrived. I went to the reception office and asked the receptionist why he had called my room without any evidence or come to check. He apologized and admitted that he might have been mistaken. At this point, I felt that the damage had already been done. You don’t call and accuse your guests of something without any evidence or even checking to see if it’s true. I asked to speak with the duty manager and he advised there was none. There was no offer for anyone to contact me back to discuss.

    Nice room and welcome upgrade

    We stayed here over the Christmas break fur 4 nights. Our room was upgraded by the friendly staff member which is always a great start! We ended up with a suite which was very spacious and quiet with a comfy bed. I would have given a 5 star review but without wishing to be ungrateful for the upgrade (we were very grateful) just being honest which is the point of the review - the walls were a bit bashed about and could have done with a paint and the carpet next to the bathroom was damaged with loose fibres hanging. Other than those small issues it was a very nice room.

    The positives:-Very accommodating staff. -Super comfy big bed and wonderful shower!Tiny things that would have made it a bit better…-Some stains on desk chair and carpet (just made it feel a bit unloved)-No arm chair in my room - would have been nice to sit back and relax for a bit. Pictures showed a bright orange one. So I did expect one.- Bathroom sliding door needs a stopper (too easy to slam which can be very noisy for others if someone needs to use the bathroom in the middle of the night)Otherwise it was a great stay!

    Brent the GM is extremely rude and unhelpful - he just ignored the guest and put all the blame on hotels.com which was totally u true .. hotels.com did everything they could to help me but he was too commercialized to be kind & empathetic !!! Not humane and will not refer to go back again ! Jasper Hotel, Guest Services / Front Office at Jasper Hotel, responded to this review Dear Sajida, We are very disappointed to receive this review from your side, first and foremost the reservation that you booked was 100% Non-Refundable/amendable, Moreover upon check-in, we gave you both rooms upgraded to suite rooms, and that too for 10 nights, we helped in each way that was possible, we cannot amend or refund anything as you have only booked non-refundable booking, apart from that Our GM Provided you the option for 3 months credit, but that was also not accepted by you, we are shocked to see this type of review and an unfaithful gesture towards us. However, we thank your feedback and value different opinions.     This stay was a mixed bag. The bar and restaurant staff were fabulous. The breakfast was delicious. The reception and concierge staff remained hidden in the office at check out time despite there being a foyer full of guests. The bar staff had to go and get them in the end. At check in I was handed my room key and told nothing about the venue and no mention of breakfast was made. My room was filthy and did not deserve the 4 star rating. I would have complained but read so many reviews about the staff doing nothing when complaints were made. The location was great and the conference facilities were good.
