    Good except for the hard bed

    The hotel is across the road from Southern Cross railway station that as well as being a major stop for Metro's suburban trains is also V/Line's terminus for most of its trains. In addition the Skybus to and from Melbourne Airport terminates in the coach terminal.Checkin was fast. There were only two lifts so the wait at peak times was fairly lengthy.The room was an excellent size with good curtains that blocked light. Insulation from street noise was also very good.WiFi, the shower in the decently sized bathroom and lighting all worked well.There was a couch in the room as well as a good size TV.While the bed linen was excellent, complemented by a top sheet meaning one could push the doona/duvery down if the latter contributed to too much heat, I did not sleep overly well as the bed seemed too hard. Some, particularly Asians, prefer this so it is a metter of personal preference.The breakfast buffet was fair but far from exceptional. The room lacked sufficient seating for the number of guests attending at 0830 AEST (time). Overall a very good hotel.

    Disappointing bed configuration and disability bathroom offensive !!

    Movenpick great location, specially for country travellers arriving in Southern Cross Station. Impressed with the spaciousness of the foyer. Nice chairs and couches to relax there. Disappointed though with the room, especially having a Disability bathroom, took slight offence to that, considering I had my 6 yr old Grandson with me. I very very concerned about him slipping on the wet floor after I had showered, as there is NO way in which one can stop the water reaching across the floor from under a shower curtain. He did not wish to shower, bit daunting to him to see the disability set up. The other disappointment was the bedding configuration. We were given a room with TWIN BEDS simply because I booked as 1 ADULT and 1 CHILD !! This visit for me was to have my Grandson join me on his first ‘parent free’ sleepover. We have always shared a KING BED on previous occasions with family stays, at least that way he is able to reach out through the night for security. Before checking out, I spoke to Tim at front desk, he assured me I had booked Twin. But as for the disability bathroom there was no answer. The accommodation was very clean, the linen was sparkling white, the Breakfast was all one could wish for, so all round I would stay at Movenpick again….. if we can have a King bed !

    Agree with previous reviews that this is a modern and comfortable motel. It is an excellent location - directly across Spencer Street from Southern Cross station. Staff were very helpful. However, the TV was not located directly in front of the bed which is unusual although the screen could be swivelled around so that a person could see the TV while lying in bed. The absence of a dedicated work desk was also odd given that this property would be targetting corporate customers, as well as leisure clients. Breakfast at $39.00 was a little overpiced in relation to nearby competitors.

    The lovely Maria was kind enough to check us in early as we had disembarked a cruise ship. Such a perfect location- trams to all areas leaving from right outside, with the major station, along with airport buses every 10 minutes running from across the street. Room was super quiet & very well appointed. Breakfast was super tasty with locally sourced ingredients. Just perfect 👌
