    Fantastic stay at the Oakwood Premier Hotel in Melbourne. Great location, close to Crown, Southbank & easy access to CBD via a near-by tram stop. I prefer staying in this area as have a hire car so I don’t have to worry about the stress of driving in/ out of the CBD. Beautiful hotel & rooms with amazing view from the floor to ceiling glass windows, great breakfast options, rooftop bars, plus a generous happy hour that is complimentary to guests staying on the executive floors. Staff were helpful & accommodating. Highly recommend this hotel.     An exceptionally great stay

    My second time at the Oakwood and it did not disappoint. The hotel amenities and facilities are brilliant, including a wonderful games room, lounge and handy ground floor shop. My suite was superb with marvellous city views, well cleaned and with great facilities - and good value for money. The location is really good, a short walk into the CBD but afr enough out to be quieter - handy tram stops nearby too. Staff were really friendly and helpful. This is one of my all time favourite hotels.     A really nice place to stay!

    The hotel is in a fairly good location - tram stop is close enough and walking distance to DFO and other places in Southbank. Check in was prompt and we were given early access to our room as ASR member, which was much appreciated. I travelled with my daughter so we booked the Deluxe room twin which has the two single beds. We were on the 22nd floor. The room was very clean and tidy. Small but adequate. The TV wasn’t the easiest to navigate and there was very general and limited information available about the hotel amenities and room inclusions etc We paid extra for the breakfast buffet on level 5 and it was very nice and pretty good value. Checkout was also quick. The lobby bar looked nice (although we didn’t find time to experience it). All in all we enjoyed our stay and would happily stay again. The main thing I look for with accomodation is cleanliness and a new feeling. This hotel room was just that, small and simple but I couldn’t fault it for what it was.     Reviewing as a 7-month pregnant guest - unfortunately, this wasn’t the most comfortable or accommodating stay.Check-in is listed as 3pm. We arrived earlier in the day and asked if the room was ready (it wasn’t, which was completely fine), so we went out and walked around the city for a few hours. When we returned at 2pm, we were told the room was ready, however, we were then charged $25 just to check in one hour early. Considering the room was already prepared and no additional service was required, this felt unnecessary and disappointing. I’ve never been charged for early check-in in this situation before. When we questioned the fee, the receptionist said she could waive it, but only if we signed up as a member. That made the situation feel even worse, as it came across more like a sales tactic than genuine customer service. I’ve never experienced anything like this before.Room service was also very overpriced. We paid $50 for two bowls of wedges and two cans of Coke felt excessive for what we received.The biggest issue was the bed. It was extremely uncomfortable, lacked proper support, and noticeably dipped in the middle, meaning we were constantly rolling into each other throughout the night. Not ideal at all, especially while pregnant and needing proper rest.The room itself looked nice overall, but unfortunately the TV didn’t work properly so we couldn’t access standard channels or streaming services like Netflix.Overall, while the room had potential, the lack of comfort and added charges made this a disappointing experience. We wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
