    Lovely hotel, but the hallways give the vibe of one of those dodgy 'B-grade movie' motels!

    Lovely rooms, but the hallways, including the wall paint and the carpets are dingy and give off the vibe of one of those dodgy motels you see in 1980's B-grade movies. I'm not sure if they're about the paint the walls, but there are patches near the floor area, plus the carpets are really dirty. It's such a shame, as the actual rooms are lovely. Yes, the bathrooms and kitchenettes are tired, but clean. It's just those horrible hallways....     We were meeting friends in the city and didn't want to travel back down the peninsula afterwards. Hotels in the CBD were premium priced because of the Chinese New year so went for somewhere out of the city but easily accessible. Loved the old school, separate clearly marked taps.     Good value and location, convenient to the central business distriction and bayside suburbs. Room was neat and tidy and more than big enough. Given the work-from-home trend St Kilda Road, at least in January, was quiet. A practical base from which to experience central Melbourne.     The location outside CBD is great and then easy to access. Neighborhood is nice. Not to much shop close though.Close to parks and beach. The hotel is quiet and clean. I definitely recommend this place.     We booked direct with the hotel. The young man was lovely and very helpful. However, we didn't know that arriving before the 2pm check-in time you are charged an additional $25. There is no disabled car park in the underground secure parking area - you park in the driveway at the front of the building. The room had a small kitchenette with microwave. The bed was large and comfortable but the room was old and tired and not what we expected. We won't be staying there again.
