  Bathroom stank. No blackout blinds when apartment overlooked a building with lights on 24/7; layout meant this also streamed into the bedroom. Stained dishes.   Wonderful staff, but do NOT stay here

  First, the staff here are wonderful - they are responsive, kind, and as helpful as they can be. Any time we contacted them or asked for anything, they helped us. That being said, do not stay here. The construction next door is insane. It is not just a little normal construction. Our room was on the corner of the building and BOTH walls faced the construction. The noise starts as early as 5:30AM when you can hear workers moving materials and talking. They say 7AM, but that is not true. You are so close to it that you can hear the exact words the workers are saying to each other. You can most definitely hear walkie talkies, and literally everything. The construction elevator was 2 meters from our window and it went up and down ALL DAY LONG. It's horrible. The management simply should not be renting out these apartments/rooms that face construction. The ear plugs they provide are useless. It is extremely loud and obnoxious. Do not stay here. They do tell you about the construction and provide earplugs, but this is not your normal construction, it is construction of the type that these rooms should be vacant. Of course, we complained and they offered to move us - but only to the same room 1 floor higher which would have had the same problem. And then to another building, but the reviews for that building are even worse than this one (!), and the laundry facilities are communal and not free. So we stayed. My family gets up early and we were mostly gone during the day so we could live with it. But if you plan to sleep past 5:30, desire any peace, or plan to work from the room, this place will not work for you. The wifi is also very poor, which seems to be a theme with this chain, so if you are working remotely, this is not a good place for you. The staff gave us 2 of our own wifi routers which helped so much, though we had to alternate back and forth because they would sometimes work, sometimes not. I didn't realize it, but it seems that smoking is allowed in the building as there were clearly people on our floor smoking and it made the whole hallway smell horrible. The building is old and in poor condition. You can hear every footstep above you, and every footstep of anyone in your own apartment because the floors creak with every single step. The carpets are stained and threadbare. The furniture scuffed. It is just a very poor quality place. Again though, the PEOPLE who work here are wonderful, the quality and location of the place they work is not their fault at all. The management, however, needs to do some serious re-thinking of the place.   Pleasantly Surprised – Would Definitely Stay Again

  I was a bit unsure about booking after reading some of the previous reviews, but decided to give it a go since we were really only there to sleep — and I’m so glad we did!The room was actually quite nice. Yes, the bedroom is separated from the living area by a blind, but it’s only a small section — the rest is proper walls and a door. It didn’t bother me at all or affect our sleep.There is construction going on right next door, but that’s completely out of Punthill’s control. While work did start early Friday morning and a bit later on Saturday, the noise wasn’t ongoing all night and didn’t disturb our sleep. We heard one guest complaining at checkout about noise disturbing her, but unless she was trying to sleep all day, I’m not sure what she was referring to — there was no noise overnight.There was also a party a few rooms down, but once we were in our room we couldn’t hear a thing — only noticed it while walking down the hallway.Only suggestion would be to install a blackout blind or curtain over the main living area window. Overall, we were pleasantly surprised and would happily stay again!   Think twice before staying

  In the one bedroom apartment, there is no wall between the bedroom and the kitchen, only a blind that you pull down. There are no blockout blinds so lights come streaming in from bulidngs next door and the morning sun. The hotel did not stand by online advertised prices and forced me to pay additional costs once I arrived.   Poor communication - assumtion that messages get through, don't follow up on bookings, would not consider a partial refund after incorrect bedding configuration was not provided after late check in - request was made during core business hours but not fufilled.
