  An excellent base for exploring.

  This hotel is an excellent base for exploring the areas around South Yarra. A few minutes walk to the train station and tram services, it takes only minutes to get to the CBD area, beaches, and other lovely towns. Tarook Road at the top has excellent shops, cafes and bars. Staff are friendly and helpful, the room was very comfortable (superb bed) with all amenities needed and everyone was well presented and spotless.   Great Apartment, Tight Carpark

  Amazing location, tight carpark, but easily navigable enough - just go straight to L6. Plenty of food and drink options within walking distance. The hotel is quiet, modern and well-appointed. We had a double, with three rooms. It was spacious, clean, and comfortable. My only concerns were a) the noise from the train station next door that bugged my kids as they were trying to get to sleep, and b) the foyer light that I could not turn off and ended up removing the globe for the night. Other than that, it was a great stay and well worth the price, thanks!   A conveniently located, nicely furnished, just perfect place to stay

  The hotel has a perfect location, next to a street with plenty of a diversity of good restaurants (local, japanese, mexican, Chinese, Thai, Italian) and is just two train stations away from Federation Square e che downtown. It's nicely furnished, with good taste, and the rooms are equipped with everything, including even a washing machine. My room also had a terrace space, and a desk and a comfortable armchair with foot rest, as well as a table for breakfast. Absolutely recommended.   Never book punthill south yarra

  Terrible experience. Regretted my choice to try out Punthill. 1)staffed hours is 9am-8pm. I checked in around 10pm. And encountered below difficulties -there is an intercom to speak w customer service. Intercom is faulty and the receiver volume is extremely soft, could not hear much-the intercom system automatically cuts iff after 1-2min. I have to dial in 4-5 times to speak w different staff to repeat the issues i face.-9-8pm staffed hours does not work for tourists who started itinerary early and return late. Throughout my stay, i did not see a single staff2)no housekeeping on weekends. 3)No parking facility arranged. The after-hours customer service told me to find my own parking elsewhere. So much for customer service4)on my second night, upon returning to hotel, my key card was denied access! No entry! I dialed in 4 times to after hours customer service, there was a lady who was totally non-chalent . I recognise her voice as she was equally non-chalant the night before when i dialed in. Luckily, a guy helped me reconfigured my key card. He told me most probably the front line staff did not configure my card properly. 5)one reason i booked punthill is because they have a decent gym. To my alarm, their gym closes at 8pm when their staff knocks off. This is ridiculous. What would it take to have a hotel opens its gym till 11pm, or even 24hours? Are u worried your guests would steal the machines??Overall, terrible hotel in every way.
