    A terrible 4-night stay experience

    We chose this hotel because we were going to visit the universities in Melbourne. Because there are quite a lot of family members, for the sake of rest and convenience, we chose the 2 Bedroom 2 Bathroom room. We also sent a written email to the hotel in advance, requesting that one bedroom be equipped with a king-sized bed and the other with two single beds. The hotel also provided a written confirmation of this request. But after checking into Room 1701, there were two large beds. It's hard to imagine how the international chain hotel Accor could make such a mistake. But this was only the beginning of the unhappy experience. On the first night of our stay, we noticed that the drainage system in one of the bathrooms was sluggish, causing the bath water to overflow over our feet when taking a shower. The day before our departure, we contacted the hotel to request that they address this issue. But when I went to take a bath in my hotel room the next night, the sewer was still not functioning properly. We also communicated with the hotel. A lady named Avelyne was not very cooperative. She said she had already checked the room and found that there was no problem with the sewer. We would like to emphasize that the sewer is not completely blocked; it's just that the water flows slowly, and the bath water will overflow over the ankles. However, possibly due to the language communication barrier, we failed to have effective communication with this lady. The final reply was that the design of the restroom was exactly like that... In conclusion, the hotel must improve in terms of room arrangement, service attitude, and room maintenance, and apologize to us.     Disappointing StayI recently stayed at Quay West Suites Melbourne, and unfortunately, the experience was very disappointing, especially given the price charged.The property did not offer value for money. The outdoor balcony was covered with spider webs, making it unpleasant to use. Inside the suite, there were multiple maintenance issues that should not be present in a hotel of this standard. The switchboard was broken, there was a sharp green spike protruding from the bathroom floor (which is a clear safety concern), and the toilet flush was not functioning properly.The jacuzzi was also not working as expected, which was frustrating as it is promoted as part of the facilities. These issues suggest a lack of proper maintenance and quality checks.Additionally, the food options were very limited and did not justify the overall cost of staying at the property.For the price and reputation of this hotel, I expected a much higher level of upkeep and attention to detail. I hope management addresses these issues seriously to improve the guest experience.     Nice accommodation is amazing location

    We stayed here for four nights during the Australian Open. The location right on the river is amazing; heaps of restaurant and bar choices right on your doorstep, and a short walk across the bridge to the CBD. Our room had a nice separate living room, dining area and kitchen, as well as a balcony. The breakfast is passable but relatively basic, and the bar area not very exciting, but it is still a very good place to stay. Would gladly come back.     The best apartment hotel in Southbank

    Our favourite accommodation in Southbank by far. A quality building to start with, resulting in no noise from neighbouring rooms or the hallways. Clever design of each suite’s balcony means one can’t see adjoining balconies nor occupants.We were on level 10 in an executive suite which offered access to the balcony from both the bedroom as well as the living room.The kitchen is fully stocked with crockery, cutlery, pots and pans etc for cooking. A Miele washer/dryer combination machine is neatly tucked away in the kitchen.What elevates this hotel from neighbouring hotels is having Reception manned at all times by two experienced staff members. They greeted us each time we exited or entered the hotel through the Lobby and no request was too much trouble or query go unanswered.The indoor pool area was well stocked with pool towels, showers and a gym.Close proximity to the Southgate plaza with its many restaurants, a food court and shops then further walking to the entire Southbank precinct and Crown Casino complex. We visited the Formula 1 exhibition at the Melbourne Convention Centre, an easy flat 21 minute walk from Quay West.We greatly appreciated the hotel’s buffet breakfast too and would like to thank the highly professional staff who managed all diners with speed, efficiency, unobtrusiveness and cleared tables fast. Our stay coincided with guests attending the cricket so we well understood that most diners needed to be served and out of there in time to get to the cricket!This was our best Melbourne hotel experience and we will definitely return.
