    Old, worn, needs an update but positive, - great location. Only positive!!!

    Fantastic location. That's where the positives ended. Rooms were old, outdated and smelt. Hard to tell if it wasn't clean or just old. Shower over the bath, all old. Carpet fraying and worn. Disappointing as photos don't show how worn it is. Needs a good overhaul and then it would be great. Room card wouldn't work more times than it did, extremely frustrating. We weren't the only ones that were having trouble. Card system needs improving.

    This was a last minute booking and it turned out to be just perfect. We had the executive one bedroom apartment (chosen for washer/dryer) and it could not have been better. Sizeable room, easy to use facilities, good kitchen, comfy fabric couches, good view (not that we needed it), botanical gardens across the road, tram station over the road, super friendly service, clean, sizeable and well equipped bathroom, very good price. Could not fault this place at all - you won't be disappointed.

    This is the fifth time we’ve stayed here for the tennis. It’s well priced and very conveniently situated but it’s getting very sad looking and in need of updating.Rooms are big but our kitchen area is dark and the counter top damaged. Kitchen equipment is cheap and minimal and we had to ask for a toaster. The bathroom is the most in need of an update, cracked tiles, a shower that is almost impossible to keep going as it keep switching back to the bath tap, and thin small towels.The internet is so slow that we reverted to hot spotting from our phones. Reception staff are charming and helpful but there is obviously a limit to what they can do. Unfortunately next time we come to Melbourne we will look for somewhere else.

    We stayed here for three nights. Clean, so quite we never heard a sound, bathroom outdated but perfectly clean and useable. Great price. Receptionists we’re just lovely, didn’t see any other staff. Would definitely stay here again.

    Room was fine, service not so. Was told the manager on duty would call regarding my complaint but weeks later, I’m still waiting for Stephanie’s call.I arrived at the hotel late in the night to find roadworks outside the front of the hotel. I asked both when booking – and again when checking in at reception – for a quiet room. I asked if the roadwork would continue the next morning (Saturday) and was told there wouldn’t be any work. I mentioned it was happening right now and she then said if it was (she didn’t know), it wouldn’t start early and it wouldn’t be noticeable. I was given my key – to find the room faced the main road and the roadwork. Which started (noticeably) at 7am on Saturday morning with a steel grinder.Upon checkout that morning (glad I didn’t pay for more), I was asked if there were quieter rooms than I had been given. The clerk said yes, located at the back of the building, but this was not offered to me, despite asking twice for a quiet room. I then asked to speak to the manager Stephanie who I was told was not available at the time, but who would call me to follow up. No offer of compensation, not even a call. And this is service? First and last time staying here.
