    Disappointed

    rating07 Apr 2026

We were disappointed in this hotel, on site parking is very small for the size of the hotel and you can’t pre book it .I thought if you booked 2 or 3 months out you should be able to book parking then but no, it’s a first to arrive order the off site parking is two streets away. The photos are outdated as they no longer have a spa and pool is very small. We had two rooms and they were nowhere near each other, for the money l wouldn’t stay there again

    Comfortable & Great CBD Location

    rating21 Mar 2026

Stayed overnight having a night function in city. Read mixed reviews on this place before going, my room was fabulous including a huge accessible access bathroom. Room was clean, bed and pillows very comfortable. Didn’t use the pool or gym facilities but did go and have a quick look, gym was amble and pool quite small but enough to have a quiet relax in if you wanted. Being central city quite noisy at night on streets below - sirens, boisterous people. It’s an old hotel- not 5 star but comfortable and would stay again. Only recommendation put some usb points in for phone charging as I had to connect to tv usb points to charge my phone, not ideal as it took forever! Or make sure you pack your own socket for connection. Check in and check out can all be done via a self serve kiosk which is quick, simple to use and efficient. Short walk from train stations and very central to everything Melbourne CBD has to offer.

    Clean and centrally located

    rating05 Mar 2026

We spent a total of ten days at this clean, centrally located hotel in Melbourn which we were able to use as our base for several tours, as well as accessing the Australian Tennis Open. Lots of coffee bars and restaurants within walking distance. Huge TV screen in the lobby to watch the tennis! The hotel even has a self-service laundromat which we were able to make good use of. Hospitality missing at The Victoria Hotel

    rating25 Feb 2026

I recently stayed at The Victoria Hotel. The location is central and convenient, and the rooms are what you would reasonably expect for the price point. Unfortunately, the customer service was genuinely disappointing.I arrived early, fully aware that I was not entitled to early check-in. That was never the issue. What stood out immediately was the attitude at reception. There was no smile, no welcome. Just a visible sense of irritation that I had approached the desk. It made me feel like I was inconveniencing the staff simply by being there.I asked whether I could be called if the room became available before 3pm. I was told yes. My luggage was taken, and the receptionist immediately returned to staring at her computer without another word.I then sat in the lobby, in clear sight of the front desk. During that time, I watched multiple guests arrive and be checked in straight away. After the third and fourth guest were sent up to their rooms, I joined the queue again to politely ask if my room might now be ready. I was met with the same “why are you here?” attitude and directed to the self check-in kiosk instead.Fine. I’m comfortable with technology. The keys were issued. I assumed that would be the end of it. It wasn’t. My luggage was still sitting behind the front desk, which meant I had to join the queue yet again just to retrieve it. No proactive approach to the situation, if you are sending me to complete the task, why not give me all that I need to be on my way? No notes on the booking saying that my luggage was with you, behind the desk? This review is not written out of anger. It is written as feedback. I am a frequent traveller, and what disappointed me most was not the lack of early check-in; it was the complete absence of warmth, attention to detail, and basic anticipation of guest needs.Front Office sets the first and last impression of a hotel. Something as simple as asking guests waiting in the lobby whether they are awaiting a room is standard practice, even in non-five-star properties. A central location cannot be the sole asset of a hotel.I truly hope this review lands in the right hands. Someone in management who is willing to observe what is happening at the desk and invest in going back to basics. Hospitality is, at its core, about how you make people feel. At the moment, that foundation appears to be missing.I would absolutely be willing to give The Victoria Hotel a second chance. I believe in positive change, and I hope this feedback is received in the constructive spirit in which it is intended; for the benefit of the team, the guests, and the long-term reputation of the property.
