    An art gallery of a hotel!

    This little art gallery of a hotel is located in a great St Kilda spot - close to the beach, the Palais Theatre, great restaurants and Luna Park. The staff were helpful and friendly and the room was clean and tidy. The hotel loses a star because the bed was small (a double) and quite hard. We were in suite 101 - a great size but all a bit tired and smelled a bit musty. However, with the wonderful art, adorning all the walls, the fun colour schemes, the location and the friendly staff, it is certainly worth considering for a night or two.

    Absolute shocker. Really run down and the restaurant has closed down so no dinner and no coffee in the morning. It’s basic but would be great if it had a vibe - it doesn’t. Our balcony room was cramped and the shower room was comically small. Door locked at 7pm on a Friday so checking in was a palaver. Public areas are tired and art, while fabulous, is often damaged. Stay elsewhere until this place gets some TLC.

    Disgusting dirty hotelWe booked a holiday package with Hays travel UK and this was one of the hotels allocated to us, the reviews weren’t two bad so we went along with their booking. We were to spend 10 nights here but spent none as we left soon as we saw the room. The hotel was scruffy and dirty, definitely in need of an upgrade.The room allocated to us was on the second floor, there was no lift so had to hump our cases up the stairs that needed a good vacuum.The Chinese chap on reception was nice enough and helped us with one case up the stairs, then explained to us that the rooms only get cleaned every 4 days!!!As you will see in the photos, the room was dirty, the wardrobe had a handle missing exposing a sharp screw, the bathroom door had what looked like food over it, the bathroom was dirty and tiny, the bed was rickety don’t think it would have lasted long.We where shown another room but that was just as badI did speak to the hotel manager on the phone and told her we were leaving as the hotel was in poor condition, she never questioned me and said she would refund the money to the 3rd party. We are now out of pocket as we had to book another hotel, but it was worth it to get away from that horrible hotelAdvice do not stay there

    A mistake we won't be repeating

    Poorly maintained hotel. We were greeted with a dark, fully closed up hotel- broken glass on 1 inside door to what appears to be a bar. The entire building is a run-down dump and the room does not match the photographs on the website. I cannot believe this hotel has a 4 star status since its closer to a 2 star level. Took a stack of photos just to make sure they don't claim we damaged the room. Found mould on the blinds, a dirty freezer with god-knows-what in it, and a complete lack of cleaning other than the bathroom bare necessitates and bed linen.

    Absolutely love this place. Clean, tidy, friendly staff and so close to everything. The staff go out of their way to ensure a pleasant stay, rates are amazing considering the location. It is my "go to" hotel whenever I visit Melbourne for business or pleasure
