  A nice relaxed boutique hotel in the city of New Castle. The staff were so friendly and nice. The was has that wow factor and very comfortable . The bed allowed you to sink in and drift off with two large pillows. I slept very very well and had to push myself to get up in the morning. The whole hotel is very chic .There are three areas to eat or have a drink the bar downstairs, the roof top bar and they have a nice restaurant called Jana. The hotel is 2 miles walk from the light rail stop and a 10 minutes walk down to the beach area . There is a supermarket and bottle shop and a great Asian restaurant called Oh My Papa behind the hotel . We stayed for two nights and highly recommend this boutique hotel.

  My birthday stay at the QT Hotel in Newcastle was 10/10 from the Beautiful room to the Outstanding staff who made us feel so welcome.A huge shout out goes to Front Desk staff beautiful Billie & Grace & our beautiful breakfast waitress Maria! You 3 made our stay so much more enjoyable you went beyond!🤗 Also on arrival to our room I was given balloons🎈 🎈 🎈 and bubbly 🍾 🥂 I can't recommend this Hotel enough thank you for making it so special QT

  I stayed here on business. The hotel is beatifully designed. Generous, well-appointed rooms with the expected QT design edge. Luscious bathrobe (I made a note to order on of these myself) and Dyson hairdryer (I made a note to order on of these myself). Staff were friendly and helpful. The restaurant was also tops. Location in East Newcastle (east end of downtown) is the best place to be.

  We dont understand the hype about this hotel..

  We had never been to Newcastle (we live in the UAE and USA) but wanted to see what this city was all about. Lots of construction ongoing, busy, youngish and active. Used to be a true blue collar town of very hardworking Australians we were told and still to this day has a dynamic port whilst many changes are happening and the town is moving with the times. Quite excellent really . Great shops, bookstores, architecture, university and beautiful coast. Excellent restaurants everywhere. Also apparently a Five Star hospital there with top doctors. Now a short review about the QT NewCastle we stayed at .Staff was lovely and polite, but the room very dark and my husband and I hated it. We had booked for 3 nights and paid one of the higher prices to get a nice room.The moment we entered the room with our luggage we wanted to leave, so terrible we found it. We immediately told the staff how much we disliked the room and if they had a different one perhaps? we would pay even more than we already did if that was required.We were told there was not another room available , we had already one of their *better* ones. So what could we do?After two days staying there (well, we were mostly not in the room but slept there) we didnt want to stay a day longer and told the reception we wanted to leave. Shockingly we were told we could not get any refund (why not really? we didnt book a deal of any sort, we paid full prices so why couldnt we just leave and get the last day of 535$ back? we only asked for one day refund!) .The room for us felt like a luggage lockup at the New York airport or from a horror movie. Further, no drinking water in the room so we had to buy mineral water from the local supermarket and the water in the shower was heavily chlorinated. There was a weird smell in the room, I had told the reception about that already as well.We didnt touch for three days a thing in the room, neither the dressing gowns (black..so how clean are they? you cant see...) nor the black water boiler ( had dirt on it and finger prints from former guests no doubt). We were very happy to leave the hotel this morning, drive to Sydney and now are waiting for our flight back home. Not a great experience this QT thing we must say.Regretfully.

  amazing stay and amazing staff

  don’t think just book it. it is good. great location walking distance to two good beaches.room was very comfortable. very cosy bed and reasonable pillows. clean and pristine on arrival good in-house italian restaurant. food was very good quality. lovely cocktails and wine selection. the big plus is that the staff were amazing. very personable and attentive. HUGE shout out to Sydney, Michael and Billie. They made the stay completely worth while. very much looking forward to returning.
