  Enjoyable break away

  Our room had a seperate lounge area complete with a very comfortable lounge, TV, bar fridge, small dining table, kitchen sink, bedroom had plenty of hanging space & very comfortable bed, along with another TV, bathroom had the shower over the bath, although it would have been nice to have a non slip mat for the bath. Our view was over the pool & harbour which was beautiful. The staff were very friendly & helpful, off-site valet parking at a really very reasonable rate. We ate in the restaurant ( unfortunately the first night there was a wedding & a conference which made the noise level ridiculous) and the food was very nice.   Absolutely wonderful stay could not fault. The staff 1 bit very accommodating to all needs.   Family Getaway at Rydges

  We stayed in the Family Suites at Rydges Newcastle while travelling with family, and it was such a great experience. The rooms were really spacious and well set up, with everything we needed, including a microwave and a small kitchen area, which made things super easy and comfortable.Having the rooms right next to each other was perfect we could spend time together but still have our own space when we wanted it. Everything felt brand new, modern, and clean, and the whole place had a really welcoming feel.We felt at home as soon as we arrived and made some lovely memories during our stay. We’d definitely stay here again and would happily recommend it to anyone travelling with family or friends. PS - Staff are AMMMMAZING!   Poor start, ok middle, terrible end

  A very disappointing stay overall, with a poor start,a good middle, and bad endThe first room was not clean, had a curtain hanging off, ripped Lou ge chair and dust on the carpet, the room was recleaned, they missed the previous occupants a banded sock under the bedroom table side table.Reception offered us another room,we went to move,they had then allocated to someone else, but left us waiting.The overnight stay was eventually good, nice room good view of the boats and water, slept well and the buffet breakfast was just what we needed.On check out we had to remind the reception to remove a chargeThe final stage or straw ! our hire car was returned by the concierge, not how we had handed it to the concierge. They offered valet parking, we accepted and the valet had reversed and scrapped the rear bumper. We hired the car the day before and it was perfect, photos to prove on collection and the hotel check the car as they accept the vehicle from us, they make notes diagram. This showed no marks on hand over.A very awkward time then as the concierge walked off didn’t come back we requested to speak to the manager on duty, rather than our word being taken, he must investigate, check his cctv, who parked the car etc.Overall, issues and problems occur - that’s hotel life. What’s so missing in this hotel is the basics, warm welcome, be in the moment, smile. If there are issues sort them as soon as and keep the customer informed, put yourself in the customers shoes… this is not our experience at Rydges Newcastle.
