  The location is perfect for the sightseeing traveller. The staff are extremely friendly, knowledgeable and helpful.   Stunning location, incredible staff and great food

  Our recent stay at DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront was, quite simply, outstanding in every possible way. From the moment we arrived until the moment we departed, the hotel delivered a level of hospitality, professionalism and warmth that genuinely exceeded expectations. This property absolutely “knocked it out of the park” on every level and firmly established itself as the place to stay in Perth.The first thing that strikes you is the spectacular location. Positioned directly on the Swan River, the hotel offers uninterrupted panoramic views that are breathtaking at every hour of the day. Whether enjoying breakfast, relaxing in the room, or having cocktails at sunset, the outlook is constantly captivating. The hotel itself still feels beautifully new, modern and vibrant, with stylish interiors and an energetic atmosphere throughout.The front office team deserves enormous recognition, led by the incredible James Fairbrother. I had the pleasure of working with James extensively in the lead up to our arrival and his attention to detail, proactive communication, leadership, empathy and genuine care were absolutely sensational. Nothing was ever too much trouble and every interaction reflected true hospitality at its finest. It was also wonderful to see Amy again following her maternity leave — warm, engaging and as fantastic as ever — while Fabrice checked us in with professionalism, efficiency and a genuine smile, topped off perfectly with the famous warm DoubleTree cookie.Our room was exceptional and I would strongly recommend upgrading to a river-facing room because the views are absolutely worth it. Looking out across the Swan River from sunrise through to the evening lights of Perth was mesmerising. The beds were wonderfully comfortable, the rooms beautifully designed and the overall sense of calm and luxury made it very difficult to leave.A particular highlight was 18 Knots Rooftop Bar on the 18th floor. The 360-degree views are among the best in Perth and the combination of indoor and outdoor seating makes it perfect regardless of the weather. Watching the sunset over the Swan River from the rooftop with a cocktail in hand was unforgettable. The drinks list is excellent, with fantastic cocktails, a strong wine selection and an impressive range of gins. The food menu is equally enjoyable — the chicken satays and mini burgers were particular favourites and perfect for sharing while soaking in the atmosphere.Breakfast each morning at Reel Kitchen on Level 2 was another standout experience. The buffet breakfast was extensive, fresh and beautifully presented, again complemented by those stunning river views stretching down the Swan. There really is not a bad table in the venue.One of the true highlights of our stay was hosting a dinner for 26 guests at Reel Kitchen. Uman was exceptional in helping tailor the menu to perfectly suit our group and dietary requirements, and weeks later people are still talking about the food and experience. We were genuinely spoilt in every way.The food itself deserves special praise. After enjoying the spectacular sunset views, I had what may honestly have been the best chicken dish I have ever eaten — a free-range chicken breast with perfectly crispy skin, mushroom sauce and shimeji mushrooms. The flavours were extraordinary: the chicken moist and tender, the skin unbelievably crisp, and the sauce rich, luxurious and almost truffle-like in depth and flavour. It was genuinely unforgettable. Others at the table absolutely loved the Barramundi featuring Humpty Doo barramundi with crispy skin, orzo pasta and béarnaise sauce. The entrées were excellent across the board, but saving room for dessert is essential. The sticky rum pudding was sensational — warm boozy sponge, decadent butterscotch sauce and vanilla ice cream in an incredibly generous portion.Service throughout the evening was flawless, with wonderful warmth and attentiveness from Grace, Ghislain, Joyce, Parth and the entire team. It was also such a pleasure to meet Chef Chinmay, whose passion and talent clearly came through in every dish served.What makes DoubleTree by Hilton Perth Waterfront so special is that it succeeds on every level simultaneously — spectacular location, luxurious comfort, genuinely outstanding food and beverage offerings, and above all, a team of people who truly care about delivering exceptional guest experiences.Whether travelling for business, a romantic getaway, a celebration with friends, or a family stay, this hotel delivers perfectly.   It's really all about the location here. Right on Perth's beautiful harbour. If you're lucky you can see the harbour from your window - but even if you don't, you ger breathtaking views over breakfast or just leave the hotel and it's all right there.Roms are fine, modern and clean - but even the higher room categories are quite compact. Fine for one person but it would have been a bit tight for two. But I had a good sleep and decent stay so it gave me what I needed.Check-in was easy and staff were friendly.I had breakfast included and it was a standard buffet with various options. The front of house tried so so hard to ensure people has a good time and felt comfortable. His team were all friendly and efficient. Plus those views of the river, swans and kayakers included. The food was okay but a standard 3-star hotel buffet fare. The service and views definitely topped the food.Would i stay again? If it's just me, yes, but if sharing with someone probably not as it's just a bit compact.   The location of this hotel is excellent. Right on the Barrack Street Jetty, facing the Swan River with the Elizabeth Quay just a hop away. Easy walking distance to most of the sights in the city centre. It’s worth the extra money to book a river view room. We had the Deluxe King with River view on the 13th floor. Apart from the magnificent river view, we also got the glorious sunsets from our window. Plenty of restaurants nearby. And now for the negatives, the housekeeping was not upto the mark. Had to keep asking for coffee, sugar and milk , there was never enough. And cleaning is done very late in the day. You get back tired after sightseeing, around late afternoon, your room is still not made up. You have to go through reception to get a message across to housekeeping. No complimentary water either. The reception staff are unenthusiastic and unresponsive, always had a reason why something was not working. No concierge for helping with our luggage up the entrance stairs. The Rooftop bar, is always busy and bookings are absolutely necessary. The main restaurant has a very limited menu. The hotel did not give us the Hilton vibe as far as hospitality was concerned.
