  Old fashion respect or leave

  Pick up was great and so was the welcome. Unfortunately our neighbours 2 doors down decided to drink, smoke and talk outside until 915pm until I rang the 24 hour service for help. This was 1115pm Qld time. As we are in our 70s and my husband is in remission for cancer and we had travelled all day . It was even more disappointing that these men continued until 3 am in lower sounds despite the visit by management. My parents used to stay here for many years and it was highly regarded. Please hand out a brochures which states the terms of the stay for the common good iof everyone. Diversity and inclusion have a place but what about old fashion respect If you want others to say. Nice things about your culture try this one. Today we have another 3 hour drive to go to my home town. We have travelled all over Australia and this was the worse experience we have had in 20 years!

  Handy for airport

  Only reason I stayed was I had a 1 night layover and for the free bus. £100 is too expensive though, but it wasn’t as terrible as some of the reviews make out. Very dated decor though. Despite that I found it clean and comfortable. The pool is nice. I didn’t try the restaurant. The staff are perfectly functional but that is it - no personality not even a smile - but they aren’t rude. Apart from a member of staff who I followed into reception with my large suitcase that didn’t bother to hold the door for me. Paint work required on skirting boards and the extractor fan letting off intermittent noise during the night - reported as I left - making sure it’s sorted for the next person didn’t help me ! Likely I wouldn’t return, simply because if I was visiting Perth again for a number of days I’d stay somewhere more central and nicer!

  Do yourself a favour and DON'T stay here!

  We stayed for 2 nights in February before an early flight back to Brisbane. There were 4 of us and we stayed in a superior room which was advertised as having a balcony or garden outlook. The room was on the ground floor and opened out onto dirt and a see through fence - not attractive at all, no garden to speak of. Our stay only went downhill from there: the bed was hard as a rock and had a hard plastic cover on the top of the mattress which was covered by a thin sheet - whenever you moved it made a loud sound, the most uncomfortable bed I've ever slept in; the towels provided were threadbare and would barely dry you after a shower; the shower was located over a bath and to turn the shower on you need to use the bath taps - that wasn't a problem for us as we are younger and flexible but an elderly person would have trouble; the knob fell off the hot water tap and we had to replace it constantly. Further - there were 4 people in our room but they only provided cups/glasses for 2 people - I had to go to reception to ask for: extra cups; hand towel; extension cord (as there are no powerpoints by the bed and my husband uses a c-pap machine), and hair dryer. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people coming and going at all hours - I understand that people have early flights but we heard people next door coming home from a night out and staying up talking for 2 hrs when we had to be up at 4am for an early flight the next day. Furthermore we couldn't use their Airport Shuttle as we were flying out on a Saturday and the shuttle doesn't commence until 7am on a Saturday. They also overcharged us and when I questioned it I was told that the price averages out over the 2 nights depending on how full the hotel is - what a load of c*(p! All in all it was a disastrous stay - beware and don't book here!

  Overpriced and outdated

  The Flag Motor Lodge is outdated with a tired decor which needs modernising. The aircon in our room was noisy, emitting a high-pitched sound and we asked to be moved to another room. The staff duly checked the availability but said most of the rooms also had similar issues with the air-cooling system. We were eventually moved to another room with a quieter A/C but this unfortunately gave off a strong damp/mouldy smell so we had to switch it off and leave the bedroom door and window open to get some air. The kitchen area of the room lacked basic dishes etc to be able to do any cooking except a cup of coffee, also there was no sink in the kitchen, so the dishes had to be washed in the bathroom wash hand basin. Staff are friendly and accommodating but nothing else positive to note.

  Location is great , I use to stay here all the time, this place is old and a little run down but use to pride them selfs on service and cleanliness, things have gone down hill big time unfortunately., room service comes with 5 dollar delivery fee , pfffft might as well get uber eats
