    This is not a location or hotel that I would stay at again or I would recommend. The location is good if you want to do designer shopping, or perhaps a business meeting, but better hotels are closer in to the CBD. The shower should have a glass door, not a shower curtain. The floor was quite wet after my shower. The restaurant closed at 8pm, really? Ultimately, I booked this hotel because it said ‘laundry’ in the review. There was not laundry room. There was only laundry service during the work week. I had to walk about 1 km to get to a laundromat.

    Great location with friendly staff. However, the glass partition between room and bathroom causes light to enter bedroom when one person uses the bathroom at night.

    We love old hotels and the Melbourne hotel is a clever mix of old and new. Very modern and clean rooms. Spotless bathrooms. We had a room with access to the wrap around balcony, you can enjoy your drink while watching the city. The Cafe is great for breakfast, quiet, and excellent selection. Hotel staff was very nice and always extremely polite and helpful. A great find. We will come back to the Melbourne hotel next visit to Perth.

    The hotel was deficient in certain areas. We could not access the hotel as no one on reception on Sunday late afternoon. Reception attendance was sporadic and when we were given directions, they were not accurate. The room was clean and bed was comfortable. The hotel is situated in a reasonably central area to connect to the city but it took a couple of days to figure out. Breakfast is downstairs but there are opportunities across the street if you want more choice. The bar attached to the hotel was closing at about nine pm as we wandered in, the only customers (the restaurant was closed). Completely unrelated to the hotel and score, be aware that Perth seems to close at 8pm on Mon thru Weds. We went to a Brazilian restaurant in a busy area but were advised that the kitchens were soon closing, could only sit outside as they were cleaning inside. Perth as a city was beautiful.

    I agree with the reviewer that said don't go! Rooftop bar was the reason we booked but was not available private party on the first night and second night closed we were told by staff its really only available for private parties. Our room was definitely not 5 star small sparse towels and warning that if steam from the shower set off fire alarm we would be charged 750 dollars. Coffee shop on ground floor not staffed during day. No offer to help with our bags had to luggage them all to the room ourselves at best a 3 star very disappointing!
