  Pleasant enough, but lacking.

  This hotel is pleasant enough, but our room was lacking for the price. We paid $315 but our room lacked a table, a toaster and basic crockery such as a bowl and plate. These are usually standard in Aussie hotels and motels. There were also few powerpoints in the room, and none at all by the bed. The best thing about our room was the view, which looked out across Wollogong Boat Harbour. (We stayed further down the NSW coast the following night, paid $220 and our room had all the things that the Boat Harbour Hotel room lacked).   Great Motel

  We had a lovely couple of days at Boat Harbour Motel had a great view of the Harbour. The room was very Spacious and Clean and the Staff were very friendly and helpful .We will be back .   Harbour view wt its best

  Breathtaking views over the harbour

  This is an older motel, but so well maintained. The first thing I need to mention is the view! Our room was at the front of the motel and looked out over the ocean, harbour and park below. We couldn't have asked for better and will ask for this exact room next time we stay there. There's nothing like waking up and seeing the sun rise over the sea from the comfort of your bed (especially when you can go back to sleep again afterwards).The room was pretty spacious too and the bathroom decent. There's a fairly powerful airconditioning unit in the room - we switched this off when we were ready to go to bed and opened the door on the balcony for some fresh air.Even though the room looks out over the harbour area, the pine trees afford plenty of privacy.The bed was pretty high and on wheels, which annoyed us slightly, as it sometimes moved when you sat on it. We did get used to it. The pillows were far too soft (which is a common issue just about everywhere you stay). We solved it by putting cushions under the pillow for better neck support.Overall it was a great stay and we're keen to come back.   WORST EXPERIENCE STAYING IN A MOTEL

  Unfortunately this was one of the worst motel rooms I have stayed in.When we booked into the motel at 1.45pm on Saturday 25 January there was the constant loud noise of hoons driving their illegally modified cars and motor bikes up and down Cliff Road in front of the motel. It was so loud we could not sit on the balcony or leave the sliding glass door open to allow the refreshing sea breeze into the room to dispel the very strong cleaning agent smell that caused my husband to sneeze constantly. The sliding glass door had been repaired with silicone where the glass had been broken. No extra blanket or pillow in the room. No landline Only 4 teabags for two people. There were only two dining chairs to sit on.No extractor fan in the bathroom and not able to open the window.Extremely old large air conditioning unit located on the floor next to the sliding glass balcony door. Only two power points for the tv, microwave and electric jug. We were in Wollongong to attend a 50th Birthday Party. When we returned to the motel at 10pm the entrance to the carpark was chained blocking access. The carpark was full and we had to search the streets for a parking spot. There was no parking within streets of the motel so we had to drive around for a while before finding one near the motel. The streets around the motel are full of units making street parking spots extremely scarce. Sunday the 27 January we were woken at 7am by a male on a microphone speaking extremely loudly announcing details and commentating on the fun run taking place that morning. He was still talking when we drove out of the carpark 9.15am The motel restaurant was closed for renovations to the kitchen. Be warned the coffee shop shuts at 2pm. We did not eat breakfast at the cafe that morning because of the the constant loud noise from the commentator of the fun run. All in all an extremely unpleasant stay to what should have been an enjoyable short break. NEVER AGAIN would I stay at this motel or any accommodation in Wollongong because of the noise of the hoons driving on the roads.Water was hot and good pressureBed was adequate.Sheets good Vlasta Pupovac, General Manager at Boat Harbour Motel, responded to this review We appreciate your feedback Lindall. Unfortunately your feedback relates to outside nopises which are outside our control.AS far as the carpark is concerned it is locked at one point to discourage drivers using the parking area as a u turn area. There is always the entrance to the motel at the main entry. Entry to the motel was not blocked.We can apologies for the disturbance you received. I am sure the people planing the birthday party would have known what was on i Wollongong.
