we have just had two stays at Lincon Downs This is a beautiful Resort . Efficient and most helpful reception staff, comfortable beds, well-appointed rooms with beautiful views over the lake but please do not go to the dining room. We had dinner there on our first stay it was the worst meal we have ever had ,My prawn and crab pasta was brought out first ,I started as the other two meals had not arrived ,It was cold, I kept telling myself I could eat it as I don't like making a fuss .I said to the waitress" I am sorry this is cold " she took it back looking rather angry ,when she returned I said to her" I am sorry if I upset you ,I know it is not your fault " by this time the other meals arrived,( ten to fifteen minutes after mine) my husband had the pot pie and could not eat the meat it was so tough mine then came back, it was only slightly warmer. All meals were on very cold plates Two hours after dinner I had diarrhea for the remainder of the night . I stayed there for a business trip. I was there for 16 nights. The room, sadly to say had dust on the bed side tables, i dont mean a little dust, a lot, the bed head was the same and the tv table was also thick with dust. The bathroom vanity looked like it had not been cleaned in a long time. I had to leave the cleaning staff a note to take my rubbish out.The manager was also very rude and abrupt, when i mentioned all of this to him.I have read some of the other reviews, which read very nicely, maybe i stayed in the wrong one.I don't recommend at all

Location very good. Atmosphere good. Rooms clean and comfortable. Value ok. Quiet. Staff very friendly. Manager great personality. Evening menu quite good. Breakfast good. Very welcoming staff. Basin tap in the bathroom a bit tricky.
