Fab hotel - location is amazing.

    rating25 Mar 2026

I was travelling by myself to visit my son and stayed at Manly Paradise for four days.First of all the location is incredible, the staff are lovely, and the room whilst small is absolutely fine - the bed was comfortable, it was super clean and it was really handy having the small kitchenette. However, it was noisy and as I had chronic jet lag having come in from the UK, I found this quite difficult to deal with. I would stay here again, but maybe later on in my trip when the jet lag is over and I can just stick a pair of ear plugs in. ManlyParadise, at Manly Paradise Beachfront Motel & Apartments, responded to this review Thank you Sarah for your lovely and detailed feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed our incredible location, clean and comfortable rooms, and that our team made you feel welcome during your stay. It’s great to hear the kitchenette was a handy addition as well.We do understand that being in the heart of Manly can mean some noise at times, and we’re sorry this was difficult, especially while adjusting from jet lag after your long journey. Thank you again for choosing Manly Paradise, and we’d love to welcome you back for another stay.

    Great position/very reasonable price

    rating24 Oct 2025

Room 316 (1 queen/1 single bed) - 2 x nights (22/10 & 23/10/25)Location - 5/5 The position is fantastic! Cannot fault the position (except for the constant noise and disruption due to building's age).Hotel is right behind surf club and beach. Note: Surf club is soon to be renovated so this will be a huge impact on your right to quiet enjoyment of your hotel room.Atmosphere - 0/5 (too noisy in room to enjoy)Rooms - 2/5 (older style with a refurbishment a while ago, but in need of a major renovation) Bathroom more like a "wetroom" with a shower screen, very small and no natural light.Value - 5/5 Manly is expensive. If cost is your only issue - then this is the place for you.Cleanliness - 3/5 (a bit old, tired and grotty in places but generally clean enough).Noise level - 0/5 (renovations in hotel (fitting garage door and using cutting saw and drill etc). Very large reno's to surrounding areas also constantly occurring - noise levels were unbearable. Room 316 had balcony enclosed with economy glass (?) and may not have catered for noise issues ie double glazing. 24/7 Noise of all types, people, traffic etc were unbearable (note: I have stayed in many City locations prior and quality of buildings has ensured noise levels are tolerable - please don't blame me for noise and disruption that could be alleviated by effective building sound proofing and management).Service - 2/5 (was woken prior to check out time on day 2 by the sound of a drill and cutting saw and the feeling of vibrations in the wall. When I rang reception they advised "a garage roller door was being fitted and that she didn't know they would start that early, but it could not be stopped and had to be completed by lunch time". No compensation was provided.Amenities - 2/5 nil really, hotel relies on its position, which is better than great. There is a gorgeous cheap Thai Restauarant underneath hotel and lots of other great ones very close by.If you don't mind constant noise and disruption and are only concerned about the budget and the actual position - then this is the place for you. It is only a 3 star hotel and the pics are very well placed to make it looker shinier and cleaner than it does. I won't stay there again because the noise and disruption was excessive. I have previously stayed at the Manly Pacific (no noise issues) and will pay the extra again next time for the peace and quiet. I wish everyone well. Take care.PS I give it 5 stars because I can't be any fairer than that. ManlyParadise, at Manly Paradise Beachfront Motel & Apartments, responded to this review We’re delighted you enjoyed our unbeatable beachfront location.Being right behind the beach means you’re just steps from the sand, surf, and everything Manly has to offer. As one of Manly’s original buildings in the heart of the action, some noise can occasionally be experienced. Thanks again for staying with us we hope to welcome you back to the beachfront soon.

    Beach Front Lodging

    rating19 Apr 2025

My wife and I are Californians who stayed 8 nights in a motel studio of Manly Paradise during our visit to Sydney. It was over Christmas and New Year 2024 / 2025. Our Aussie friends recommended Manly Beach. We managed to find a reasonable price of a studio in Manly Paradise. Then again, we realized that this studio did not have that much space nor amenities. We were in it more for the convenient location and the enjoyment of beach front living. Around the Holiday season and Australian summer, Manly Beach was a happening place. The Corso one block South of the motel was always full of people among the shops, bars, and restaurants. The crowds on the beach and on the strand made for great people watching. We noticed how convenient that we could sneaked in and out of our motel and be in the middle of things – such as watching fireworks in the harbor from Manly Wharf. Being in the heart of the Manly restaurants and shops was practical also. I made it a habit to grab a lite bite for lunch or brunch at Norma’s every day. For supper, we bought cooked dishes from Cole’s supermarket nearby. We did a bit of shopping on the Corso, not as a dedicated shopping trip but instead based on happenstance. One practical need took a bit more effort though. The motel did not offer laundry facilities and I ended up walking 15 minutes to a laundromat a few times. One key attraction for us was the famed Manly Beach to Shelly Beach ocean swim. We enjoyed doing that swim with hundreds of others on warm sunny morning. When the weather, or when the ocean conditions, was not so inviting, we would walk the mile or so to the very nice Boy Charlton aquatic center to swim in the 50-meter pool. Staying in Manly would indeed make a swimmer happy. While in Manly, we had a casual itinerary of mixing beach activities with sightseeing in the city. On days when we headed to the CBD, the Manly ferry was an enjoyable mode of transportation. That included one late night return ferry trip after seeing a show at the Opera House. We also explored other Northern Beaches. We walked to Freshwater for a picnic and some swimming. We took the bus to Dee Why where we spent a better part of a day. My wife also found the North Head hikes fascinating. The Manly Paradise staff were all friendly and warm. We made friends with our housekeeper and felt at home. I would recommend this motel for a short beach vacation.

    Very nice

    rating21 Mar 2025

My wife & I stayed here for 5 nights in late February. The hotel has quite nice & the surrounding area very scenic & fun. Our 1st stop in Australia! The folks at the hotel were very helpful. We used the great Sydney ferry system, not a rental car. Taxi drivers, nearby Swedish bakery, adjacent beach, park, grocery & restaurants were all very good.In sum, a very nice introduction for 2 older Americans visiting Australia for the 1st time.

    Promised so much delivered disappointment

    rating20 Feb 2025

Expected so much more for the $337 NZ a night room. Starting with the grumpy receptionist the place was disappointing. The bed took up most of the room and hardly had room for our bags. The bathroom reminded me of school camp days with a fixed shower head and curtain in the corner of the room and a vanity so small you couldn't rest anything on it. Bed was soft and surfaces sticky. Close to the beach but we couldn't see it.
