    Room is dated. Lots of small maintenance issues that have been ignored like the bathroom cabinet falling apart from water damage. No coffee machine.     Staff here absolutely fantastic … but their hands are tied by very bad policy !!!! I stayed 4 nights at $575 they also take $200 direct from my balance so when I paid on arrival they too a total of $775 I’m now home it’s been 5 days since they took the extra $200 and I still have not had it returned to my account also paid all that money no clean towels in four days no bins emptied no coffee or tea topped up you get nothing it was really bad the rooms are tired broken lamps broken air conditioning button the only nice thing was the staff I feel very sorry for them Chris Ma, General Manager at Mantra Parramatta, responded to this review Dear Juliet,Thank you for sharing your feedback following your recent stay.I am sincerely sorry for the disappointment you experienced, particularly in relation to the security bond, room condition, and housekeeping services.     Centrally located , close to public transport and Westfield but the hotel experience was poor .     The hotel is in a good location to be able to walk to public transport and many food options close by. The check in process was slow with only 1 person on the desk and 3 people in line.The hotel itself is old and this is reflected in the rooms that were clean at ground level but dated and A/C vents very dusty and something had been sprayed on the smoke detector on the roof (they need a deep clean above what is at eye level) .The big issue is the Air conditioning or lack of it. My room was hot and even though i set the A/C to 18 degrees after 2 days the wall controller was saying it was 23.8 degrees. I told reception when i arrived back at the hotel on day 2 and was told they were full and maintenance had gone home so was given a fan for my room. Again i woke up in the middle of the night sweating because the room was so hot.The next day when i arrived back the room again was hot so i saw reception who sent maintenance up. The maintenance guy got on his ladder and used some device to shine into the A/C vent and told me its 20 deg in there and its the best i could hope for. I said it might be in there but the room monitor says its 23.8 and its definitely not 23 deg where the bed is. I was told to close all the curtains and it would be cooler and that the A/C controller on the wall does not work and i could not adjust the temperature on it. I told him i was a hot sleeper and needed a cool room and was told you will get sick if its cold. The room at 8.40 pm was 24.8 degLong story short another sleepless night waking up hot and sweaty.On checkout i was told i would be sent my bill and this did not happen. I tried calling the hotel 3 times and the ph was not answered.On a plus the man in the bar for breakfast service always friendly and helpful as were the restaurant staff for dinner and the meal was great.     Extremely disappointed, like others i check the facilities available and then decide based on that, if you read the website they have a restaurant, a bar, room service, a mini bar, they do have them but they are all closed not available, if they'd have mentioned any of this at time of booking i wouldn't of booked, guess that's why they decieve you. Breakfast is average and expensive, don't expect choice or a selection its limited and you eat what your given. Book elsewhere imho.
