    Incredible Opera House view

    rating24 May 2026

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐Our stay was incredible. Waking up every morning to breathtaking views of the Sydney Opera House never got old. It easily one of the most memorable parts of the trip. The hotel’s location made it the perfect base for exploring the city, with so many major attractions within walking distance and countless great restaurants nearby. The mid-day treats were such a thoughtful touch and always appreciated after being out exploring. Between the amazing hospitality, unbeatable views, and convenient location, this stay exceeded expectations in every way. Would absolutely stay here again.

    Love this hotel!

Love this hotel! Check-in is a breeze; staff are super friendly and helpful and will go above and beyond to make sure you are happy. The room is clean, comfortable and spacious and we always get a fantastic view. The bathroom is also spacious and very clean. The club lounge is always busy but plenty of food and drinks available and very well maintained. Within walking distance of the opera house - you couldn't ask for a better location. Will always stay here when passing through Sydney.

Does not live up to Marriott standards

    rating26 Apr 2026

Horrible experience. Booked the hotel because I'm a loyal Marriott member, with Elite status. Was excited with the location, and while that did deliver, they fell short on a lot of other stuff. First, get to the room and there are 2 hairs in the bathroom sink, not properly cleaned. With being an elite member, get food in the executive lounge, they apparently treat their elite members like crap here because its a some curdled scrambled eggs, bacon that has been sitting under a light and is now ham jerky, cold dried up mushrooms and stale bread. I went for 3 of the days, and all were the same, basically inedible food. Go to do laundry, and they charge $8 for a pair of socks, $20 for a shirt. It's even $4/per item to have them fold it. WHAT? On top of those already insane prices, it's a 50% extra for Sunday and public holidays. I stayed for 4 nights, unfortunately the first day was a public holiday, second day was Sunday. waited until the 3rd day to do laundry and call and they say its now the business public holiday and again 50% extra. It was over $200 to do a few pieces of laundry. Talked with management and all they said was it's the 3rd party that set the price. Bernhard Langer, Owner at Sydney Harbour Marriott Hotel at Circular Quay, responded to this review Dear brittanyo942Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay with us.I want to acknowledge your concerns regarding the room cleanliness, this does not reflect our housekeeping standards. Please be assured this has been shared with our housekeeping leadership team for immediate review and corrective action.I’m also disappointed to hear about your experience in the Executive Lounge. As an Elite member, you should expect a consistently high standard of quality and presentation. Your feedback around the food being unappealing and below expectations has been taken seriously and will be addressed with our culinary team to ensure improvements are made.In relation to laundry services, I completely understand your frustration with the pricing. While the service is operated by an external provider, the pricing structure is aligned with prevailing rates across Sydney hotels, particularly for weekend and public holiday services where surcharges are commonly applied.Thank you for taking the time to share this with us.Sincerely,Bernhard LangerGeneral Manager

    Great location

    rating24 Apr 2026

Stayed here due to the proximity to the International Cruise Terminal, which is a 6 minute walk away. The Opera House, Harbour Bridge, pick up points for the hop on hop off bus, the Rocks and the harbour generally are all very close by.I was early for check in, I'd booked a premium room with a view and a king size bed. The receptionist said they didn't have one, and that I could have an equivalent room but with 2 double beds instead. Having travelled for almost 30 hours I was grateful for a room and a shower. It did have a view of the Harbour Bridge. It was clean and comfortable. There were bottles of water, tea and coffee making facilities, and toiletries in the bathroom. The shower was powerful enough, and I'm grateful for showering in the evenings as they had a hot water failure during the day. The bed was comfortable. I didn't sleep well as I was jet lagged and there was a light on underneath the cupboard which could not be switched off (I tried). It was so bright in the room it was ridiculous. Breakfast was good and plentiful, decent coffee, juices, fruits, pastries and bread, as well as cooked items. My room wasn't serviced until after 4pm which was a nuisance. I could hear my neighbours' shower through the walls. In the foyer they had complementary ice cream one afternoon which was so welcome. There are also sweets. The staff are lovely.
