    No 9 Springfield-A Great Hotel!

    rating20 May 2026

No 9 Springfield Potts Point is a great little hotel with lovely staff in a very convenient location close to trains & buses. From booking through to check-out, nothing was too much trouble for the friendly staff. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

    Very loud but local

    rating02 May 2026

Rooms are very poorly sound isolated, but the location is great and central - if you can get a room away from the street and the elevator, that recommendable. Springfield Springfield, Guest Services / Front Office at No. 9 Springfield, responded to this review Dear Mathias,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We're glad the location worked well for you and that you found the service up to scratch. We completely understand the noise concern. As a heritage building on a busy Potts Point street, sound insulation is one of the limitations we're honest about. Your tip about requesting a room away from the street and the lift is actually great advice for future guests, and we appreciate you sharing it.We hope to have the chance to welcome you back, and we'll do our best to find you a quieter spot next time.Warm regards,No. 9 Springfield Reception

Great location being refurbed and will be spectacular when finished. Reception staff were great we had an early check in and gave us a late checkout at no cost. Had a share kitchen with larger fridge that was handy and all spotlessly clean.Super location walk to everything, great value for money.

    Most horrible experience ever

    rating02 Apr 2026

This was probably the worst hotel I've ever stayed anywhere. First, the room was on the 4th floor and there is no elevator. I had to take the elevator to the 3rd floor and carry all my luggages by hand, one a very small staircase to the 4th floor. It felt like im going up in the attic. The room, looks good just in the picture. Just the bed matches the advertised pictures, nothing else. Please look at my attached pictures. However, the room was the size of the bed. No space to put your luggage. I had to put the chairs on top of each other to free up some space, and we had just 2 carryons. Furthermore, rusty rubbish bin. The shower was extremely small. You couldn't walk freely into it, you had to turn with one side first, and im an average guy (5.11 tall and 180lb weight, or 180cm and 80kg). I hit my head multiple times when setting on the toilet, because it was so close to the front wall, and had to go to the toilet with an open door because the door wouldn't close because the was no room if you are inside. Again, see the pictures. Furthermore, that sink was down to me knees, and it was so small that when washing your face, most of the water will fall down, so it would wash your feet at the same time. Finally, most of the tile in the shower was cracked, and it cut my feet. The room service consisted just of changing the bed sheets and towels, nothing else: so the toilet wasn't cleaned for 6 days, no vacuuming or anything else. All towels were white at some point, definitely very long ago, but now they all looked very gray and used. The hotel looks good from the fron, but once you get inside is extremely old, paint falling down, bring door handles. It is extremely old and outdated. This was the worst experience I've ever had. I wouldn't recommend this even to my enemies.

Perfectly adequate for short stays on a budget

    rating29 Mar 2026

The hotel is in a good location and at a good price. There is a short walk to the bus stop to the city (and Watsons Bay) and the metro (quick train journey to Central Station for coaches) or you can cycle to the city on electric Lime bikes too. There is a good supermarket.Kings Cross is not for everyone as my daughter didn't feel that comfortable, but there is a real mix of people so I don't think it is that bad for short stays. The first room we were given was on the ground floor, it was pokey and dark and the bathroom light didn't work so we asked to move. We were lucky to be given a nice room on the 4th floor which was perfectly adequate. We had a small shower room but it was fine for us.The lady did say some of the rooms are small. The room was clean and the hall areas were clean and quiet.I was looking for accommodation that was near the city and not too expensive and this hotel fitted the bill. We had a good nights sleep, it was quiet and our room was nice and the train took us straight to Central Station where we got the bus to Byron Bay.
