    Best near Sydney Airport

    rating19 May 2026

Perfectly adequate, modern, good beds, clean spacious rooms and a positive modern vibe. Fresh and tidy. Only stopped in for a 7 hour rest while in transit and it did the job. As ever any Aussie ‘5 star’ hotel is really 4.5 as not true luxury but this place does the job and no major issues to raise

From the moment we arrived to the moment we left, nothing was a problem for all staff. Clean and neat room and a very comfortable bed.

    Poor executive lounge experience

    rating23 Mar 2026

We stayed for one night using our Accor points to pay for the majority of the stay in an Executive Room with Lounge access.Nice greeting on entry with room on high floor. Not a fan of the bathroom layout but the room was ok. What really disappointed us was the canapés and drinks as part of our room rate were in a small section of restaurant next to the kitchen. Seats were a few tables for couples and a long bar leaner and stools facing the kitchen. The canapés were poor….dry hard meatballs, crackers with cheese slices (we call it plastic cheese) quartered with a slice of cherry tomato on the top, a couple of small cheese boards with a few crackers, walnuts and dried fruit and some arancini balls…We gave up and retired to our room for room service and watch the F1…. I ordered mini hot dogs and the bread rolls were so hard I couldn’t eat them. My husband had the squid which was OK.This was definitely our worst lounge experience and if we hadn’t got a great rate and paid with points I’d be very unhappy. At best a convenient nights stay before a flight with good front of house staff.

    Platinum Upgrade, Platinum Patience Required

    rating09 Mar 2026

As a returning guest at Pullman Syd Airport, I kind of knew what to expect, a comfortable & relaxing base for a short Syd getaway.Arriving at the Qantas Domestic Terminal, the hotel is a pleasant 15min walk away. After hours of sitting in lounges & airplanes, I actually welcome the stroll, especially when travelling light. If you’re dragging half your wardrobe behind you, however, I’d probably recommend a taxi.At the entrance, the concierge was clearly a one-man army, juggling arriving guests, answering car park questions, & even measuring vehicle heights to see if they would fit. Despite being run off his feet, he still acknowledged me warmly & asked if I was checking in, even offering me a bottle of water on what was a rather humid Sydney day. His service was casual, genuine & refreshingly unpretentious, something I actually prefer over the polished but sometimes robotic service you find in certain 5-star establishments. At reception I was welcomed by Bhupesh, who had the same easygoing & friendly style. Thanks to my Accor Platinum status, I was upgraded to an Executive Corner Room on the 10th floor overlooking the runway. The room itself was modern, clean & well designed, with a lovely bathtub. Despite the airport view, noise wasn’t an issue thanks to the excellent double-glazed windows.Bhupesh also explained that my upgrade included Executive benefits, with access to the Executive Lounge on Level 1. Evening canapés & drinks, however, were served in the hotel’s only restaurant, Möbius Grill, between 5pm–6:30pm.The canapé spread included salami sandwiches, a cheese board, mini bruschettas, takoyaki, & chicken skewers. I arrived at 5:45pm, which I assumed would leave plenty of time. Unfortunately, most of the food was already looking rather depleted, and the kitchen had clearly shifted its attention to dinner service. By 6:10pm, nearly everything had disappeared except the cheese, & nothing was replenished. With staff visibly stretched & rushing around, it was hectic & didn’t exactly create the relaxing pre-dinner atmosphere one hopes for.Breakfast the following morning told a similar story.Service runs from 6am-10:30am, & I arrived around 9am. There were only a handful of staff on the floor. The gentleman at the entrance, clearly under pressure, quickly showed me to a table & told me to help myself to the buffet before dashing off. No offer of coffee or drinks, so the experience initially felt more canteen than café.The buffet itself looked somewhat tired, with many items running out & not being replenished. Halfway through my meal, still without caffeine (a dangerous situation for humanity), I finally flagged down a staff member & requested a much-needed cappuccino. Then I noticed beautifully plated cooked breakfasts arriving at selected neighbouring tables. Curious, I asked the staff member who had seated me earlier, & he explained that complimentary cooked breakfasts are only offered to Accor Platinum & Diamond members. Wonderful, if only someone had mentioned that when I sat down. To his credit, he apologised & promptly brought me a menu. The underlying issue at Möbius Grill seems quite clear: staffing shortages. Whether during evening canapés or b’fast service, the limited team meant tables weren’t properly cleaned, food wasn’t replenished, & service inevitably suffered. For a hotel positioned as a Pullman 5-star property, the experience felt seriously underwhelming. The Executive Lounge was another curious sight. Throughout my stay it was completely unmanned, with the door left open, meaning anyone could have wandered in to enjoy the unlimited soft drinks, Nespresso coffee & snacks. Dirty plates & used wine glasses sat on tables for hours; when I returned later in the evening, they were still there. It was, without exaggeration, the most unattended 5-star Executive Lounge I’ve encountered. That said, Pullman Sydney Airport still has plenty of potential. The modern décor, comfortable rooms & convenient location near the airport are all solid points. Most importantly, the human touch is still there, particularly from the hardworking concierge & the friendly reception team who seem to be holding the fort. With a bit more support & attention to service in the restaurant & lounge, the hotel could easily regain its shine. At the moment though, it feels like a polished property that’s starting to gather some rust around the edges.
