    Quest Macquarie Park - A Disappointing Experience

    I arrived at the property at around 2pm just to check in and obtain keys, being fully aware the room would not be available.Tried to explain this to the lady at the counter but she kept trying to contact housekeeping and had poor communication skills for someone handling customers at the front desk.Was then advised there was a $100 bond payable, despite having stayed at the premises two weeks prior when this fee was not charged.There was no mention of a bond on any Wotif documentation, and it did seem strange that I was charged on the latest visit but not at a stay prior.I reluctantly paid the bond money, and it was explained by another member of the front desk staff that it could take anything up to five days to receive a refund of the bond money.I obtained my room keys and went to visit my daughter before returning to the hotel around 8pm.I then went into the lift before realising the keys were not coded and I couldn't proceed to my room.Back to the front desk and two new keys were coded.The room was a little small but provided an adequate stay.Having stayed at many large hotel chains in the area, I would recommend you should proceed to the Meriton or Mercure Hotels because you will not be out of pocket regarding a bond payment which you won't see for up to five days of your stay.     We had to take our dog to a local vet hospital SASH, that was close by, and were very happy with our stay at Quest Macquarie Park. It is very organized, the staff kind & courteous, and everything was clean, tidy & worked as intended.
