This hostel/youth hostel warmly welcomes guests in Sydney.

Facility

The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. A baggage storage service, a safe and a drinks machine are available. Wireless internet access allows guests to stay connected while on holiday. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. Film fans will find plenty of 'lights, camera, action' at the cinema. The grounds of the hostel feature a playground and a lovely garden. Additional amenities include a TV room, a playroom and a library. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park. Further services and facilities include a 24-hour security service, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a hairdresser and a coin-operated laundry. Active guests who wish to explore the surrounding area by bike will appreciate the bicycle hire service. Bicycle storage is also available. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

    Easy to find,clean and friendly, Room for a couple was more than we needed for out stay,booked and extra night with no hassel.As older travelers(50's) we didnt feel out of place

    To Whom It May Concern,I am writing to express my disappointment with my recent stay at Original Backpackers in Sydney. Unfortunately, I will never return to this establishment. The cleanliness was far below acceptable standards; every room was dirty and had an unpleasant smell. The toilets were even worse, and the kitchen conditions were unacceptable. Additionally, I found the atmosphere to be quite disruptive. Many guests were rude and created a noisy environment with loud music and drinking until the early hours, making it impossible to rest.I cannot recommend Original Backpackers to anyone looking for a pleasant and comfortable stay in Sydney.Sincerely, Guido

    Place smells of weed and is loud until late hours despite saying there’s a quiet time policy at 10, staff smoking illegal substances and not taking in considerations for guests that do not want to smoke and drink with them. Not the place for couples

    AWFUL, do not go here. It was so dirty and the smell of weed and mouldy food was overwhelming. 90% of staff gave me dirty looks and were extremely unwelcoming. Same with the guests. They all appeared to be long term guests which was evident with the bins of clothing all over the room and dirty pants on the balcony. When we explained the situation to the staff they challenged me and stated there was nothing wrong with the room and it was a hostel and not a hotel and this is what to expect (it’s definitely not!) I was not offered another solution and was hurried to leave by the staff talking in there native language while giving me dirty looks. Absolutely avoid this hostel at all costs.

    One of the best hostels I've stayed at in Aus sofar !! They provide a good breakfast everyday and dinner a few nights a week which is really good quality food, the rooms are clean and have loads of storage space, the communal areas are well kept too!! My room even had a private balcony with a gourgous city veiw, I will be staying here every time I come to Sydney! Location is also great here as you're walking distance from the city and the trains and busses are easy to access from here
