Situated in a landmark heritage building, the hotel is ideally located in the city of Sydney, close to all city attractions such as the Sydney Tower, Opera House and shopping areas. Chinatown, Darling Harbour and Central Station are all within approximately 10 minutes' walk. Kingsford Smith International Airport is some 35 km away.

Facility

The hotel was built in 1915. The hotel has 42 rooms, including single rooms and 28 double rooms, which are located on 4 storeys and are reachable by lift. The reception desk is open round the clock. Amenities include a cloakroom, a baggage storage service and a safe. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel has a range of facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. Guests arriving by car can park their vehicles in the car park for a fee. Rooms

    Unhygienic and you can hear your neighbor sneeze

    This is a meth den with a nice lobby, dirty rooms that you can hear everything. I would not recommend staying. It felt unhygienic, from dirty cups, to a weird smell.     Dirty and Unhygenic

    They do not listen to your complaints. When i checked in there was gross takeaway trash in balcony. I complained to front desk but they didnt remove it. I stayed for 2 nights and till the time i checked out it was still there. Looks like that trash is an integral part of the hotel and somehow cannot be displaced.     Extremely disappointed.

    A dated, shabby hotel room hardly 4*.The issues that we had and that we raised with the hotel were:1. the bathroom basin could not be plugged. The hotel could not rectify.2. the basin pipework had been leaking into the cupboard below previously and was full of dirty water. It was repaired on the last day.3. there was one dirty armchair but there were two of us and only one of us could sit down. Hotel could not replace it.4. usb connectors were not working. Hotel could not rectify.5. there was little in the way to store clothing satisfactorily. Hotel could not assist.In general it was a shabby room in an otherwise reasonably decent looking hotel.The only thing in it's favour is location.     There is a lip in the bathroom that during the night I went to the toilet and tripped on it falling over badly. There is no shower pressure with a luke warm water trickling through. The room is tiny. I can hear conversations from room next door due to paper thin walls. The room was a box. This should only be backpackers place only.     I recently stayed at Veriu central although the rooms have been slightly renovated the hotel is extremely run-down it was a huge disappointment from start to finish. The room was tiny — barely enough space to walk around the bed. Noisey sirens and traffic can be heard from level 1. The single, creaky old lift was constantly overcrowded and painfully slow, making it a nightmare just to get to your floor. Definitely not worth the money — I’d recommend staying anywhere else. Definitely not the star rating it has!
