    We had a 3 night stay at the Auldington Hotel at a cost of $549.00 for the stay. No complaints about the room etc which was fine, however, a week after our stay I received a phone call from the hotel claiming that we had taken an item (chocolate) from the mini bar which was unpaid for. I knew that we hadn't used anything as we had bought wine, cheese and chocolates from a liquor shop and Woolworths to have on our balcony, and we have a policy of never touching the mini bar. I explained this to the young man on the phone but to my disappointment and annoyance I noticed that the next day they had deducted an amount from my credit card which was not authorised by me.I know it was only a small amount but their attitude the principle is what ruined my opinion of this hotel.I had given them a good review on Booking.com which I have since deleted. Would I stay here again or recommend them - No.I suggest anyone staying here take a photo of the contents of the mini bar before they leave.

    There are some good things about this hotel - good parking, the bed was comfortable enough, good bath and shower so the essentials are ok. But it is really in need of repair and redecoration as is shabby. Also wasn’t as clean as it should have been. We were left with the impression that it is running down.

    I met with James the manager today at the property. James is crearly passionate about looking after his guests and is keen to attract bisiness travellers. The property was very clean and tidy. The staff are precented professionally and ready to assist. The property is located on the fringe of the city and is a short walk to the Cateract Gorge. It has a large off street carpark as well.

    This restored convent is delightful. I was a single traveler. My room was big. The bathroom (with bath tub) was big. It had tv, fridge, air con, free wifi, a lift that was fabulous after 6 days of hiking. It's a little out of town, but within easy walk of everything - cafe on the corner, Cock N Bull pub for dinners, Woolies & Coles, chemist, parks, harvest market, waterfront & cafes, cruise up the Tamar, kayak up Cataract Gorge. All within walking distance. And it was very relaxing sitting in the rotunda in the garden with a glass of wine & reading.The desk staff were lovely & helped with any questions.I'll definitely stay here again if I come back to Launnie.

    Fantastic service, great location with spacious comfortable rooms and an overall beautiful property. We are regulars at The Auldington and always have such a good time. James couldn't be more helpful. Would highly recommend for anyway visiting Launceston.
