  Relaxing Stay at Maxy's of Bruny Island Escapes

  We stayed at Maxy's of Bruny Island Escapes and Hotel Bruny, and it was a fantastic experience overall.The accommodation was very convenient, peaceful, and incredibly quiet—perfect for a relaxing getaway. The place was clean, well-maintained, and felt very comfortable throughout our stay. With three bedrooms, it can easily accommodate up to 8 people, making it ideal for families or group trips.One of the highlights was the cozy fireplace, which made the evenings warm and inviting. We also loved the backyard seating area—perfect for enjoying a cup of coffee in the sun.The location is great too—Adventure Bay is just a 20-minute drive away, and a café is only about 4 minutes away, making everything easily accessible.A wonderful place to stay if you’re visiting Bruny Island!

  Rooms with views and wallabys

  The room was very new, clean and restful. It has native plantings around and wallabies were usually to be seen from our room. Directly opposite a quiet lovely beach in a picturesque bay. It doesn’t get any better than this! The room had a full wall double glazed window and outside deck. Good curtains, air con, comfy bed and lovely bathroom. Food at the hotel was excellent with friendly staff.Would highly recommend.

  Not bad but could easily be a lot better

  Location very attractive and cabin modern and clean with a great view, but cabin poorly equipped with the little things that count if you are self catering, no chopping board, no sink,minimal crockery, View spoilt by old houses next to the pub with no screen planting. Pub is tired and needs an external revamp and some trees in the car park. All in all a mixed bag but could be great. 3 1/2 stars.

  Not worth the price

  This accommodation was a real mix of good and bad. We stayed in one of the cottages and it was very modern and clean and had great views across the bay. The room opened onto a little deck that was very pleasant to sit and watch the view when the weather permitted.However, there were a lot of things that detracted from the experience. The cottage was not very well insulated. It was stifling hot in the afternoon sun despite the relatively mild weather and the aircon really fought hard to cool the place down. There was a gap around the double-glazed door to the deck which would be freezing in the colder months. There was no body lotion provided and no iron/ironing board either in the room or from reception. The internet was very slow.The food was a real hit and miss affair. We had to return one meal which was inedible while the other was ok. The food going out the previous evening looked quite good. It really looks as though it depends on which chef is on at the time. The area is scenic, but there really is nothing out there.For the price, it should have been better. People are better off staying somewhere around Adventure Bay where there are more facilities.

  Nice but wash your own dishes!!

  Really nice place but I did have a teaspoon with some food on it and a cup was also dirty, then upon checking out, I read the request for all travelers to wash their dishes before leaving. Really; it should be to the operator to ensure that all dishes are hygienically cleaned not travelers, and would they give it a good clean - unlikely. The place was very nice and has nice out look.
