Stayed here a few times. Never fails. Mathew and crew run a good accomadation. Friendly and reliable. Rooms clean and tidy, and quiet place to stay, and central location. Thankyou again

Had a 2 night stay here and was surprised at the quality for money spent. No it’s not 5 star, but it's clean and tidy.

    Would not stay here again.

Would not stay at this hotel again. On arrival nearly had a heart attack when driving down the driveway, majorly steep and the carpark is tight. This should be advised to guests before booking, especially for those with mobility issues. Asked at reception if we could drive out past reception where there was a visible driveway, response was "wouldnt suggest it unless you have a 4wd as its really bad". Went to our room, leg broken on bedside table, partner went to reception to advise them, they came to fix it, turned on the aircon, started leaking all over the floor. Told reception, again they had to come and fix it. Still leaking after being looked at twice, went out for the day and came back to a puddle on the floor. Partner again reported to reception, he came back with a portable aircon that he had to carry up two flights of stairs, and no hose to hang out the window to vent air, so the room was hot as, as there was no way for the air to escape. Room has had a very weak attempt to be modernised but failed.

Located in a quiet and safe area.

Quiet and safe area, close to shops and walking distance to numerous dining options. As others have mentioned some aspects of the rooms are dated, but the price reflects this. The room in general was tidy, clean and the linen had a beautiful refreshing scent. Yes the entrance and exit to the property is steep but proceed with caution and you are ok.

    Never ever, ever again

Needing accommodation in Launceston, I was happy to book at The Coach House because I could clearly see from their website photo that it was located on what appeared to be pretty level ground. Ah ha! Not so! As an elderly couple, my husband who is in his eighties, has walking difficulties. Imagine our horror when we realised this property is absolutely NOT on level ground, in fact as you come down the entrance driveway, I could not see the way ahead of me because the ground just dropped away. It felt like falling off the edge of the world. What a shocker. Their photo has obviously been modified and gives a completely false impression. The white car in their photo could not possibly be where it is because there is no ground there, ergo it’s been inserted. When checking in I asked if it would be possible to have a ground level room (one block is two stories, another three). I was told the hotel was full for the night (despite it still selling rooms online) and because I booked through a third party site (doesn’t everyone these days?), they controlled room allocation and as a result we were on the top floor of two stories, with no chance of a change. My husband was having a fit and so was I at the thought of getting our suitcases and numerous other bags up those stairs.Basically the premises are past it, in fact Launceston is full of these 1960s era establishments, that have seen little or no renovation or upgrade. Don’t get me wrong, I love Launceston, but finding somewhere to stay that doesn’t cost an arm and a leg is a real challenge. Our room, and I assume others, had its’ brick walls painted in a white wash and had a nice comfortable bed (well done housekeeping), but the bathroom had seen absolutely no upgrade (other than the toilet bowl had been replaced at sometime), I’d say since it was built. Never seen such an old and crappy cistern. The freezer in the little fridge hadn’t been defrosted since 1960 either. The reception clerk wasn’t taking any prisoners, but he must have seen my distress and offered to carry our suitcases up the flights of stairs, for which we were grateful.I can’t imagine anyone wanting to come back here unless they had absolutely no other choice.
