    Our first room was Level 2 facing rear of building with poor lighting and air conditioning units outside in an alley humming along all night was uncomfortable.So we were moved to Level 10 facing harbour. Rooms are clean , Beds were firm.Restaurant on site needs to cater for western people.     Basic comfortable rooms. Toiletries are only a body wash and then a three in one body/shampoo/conditioner.     Great location and a lovely restaurant made for a really enjoyable stay. Overall, I had a very good experience and would consider coming back.That said, the checkin process could have been smoother. I had some difficulty communicating with the lady receptionist, as it was hard to understand her and the answers to my questions were quite vague!     Comfortable, clean and quiet, but the service fell short of basic expectations.

    I spent a week in Hobart doing lots of outdoor hiking and exploring. I chose this hotel at the time (a few months in advance) as the prices were "reasonable" compared to other hotels in Hobart, but still actually quite expensive for what you really get.The location is "okay" but not near anything at night. I didn't feel overly comfortable walking around at night from this hotel until I was in more populated areas. The actual check in process was quick and easy. I got allocated a room (with no view) on Level 1. There are 3 lifts that are reasonably quick, but the swipe card system in them has been disabled. The room was made up of a king sized bed, a desk, a place for your luggage and a small bathroom with a shower. There was a safe and fridge as well in the room. It's still one of the old hotel where you need to leave your card in the slot at the door for the lights to come on and aircon to work. I had two cards and so left the second card in there. On the 4th night the card disappeared and on returning on the 5th night the card was back there again (a tad dodgy in my opinion) The beds were "made" every night, but I use the quotes as it was really just pulled up rather than remade. The Pyjamas I left on the bed were either left on the sideboard, the pillow, the floor and the flat sheet was always rumpled (never smooth). I left some stuff on the tiny bin to be thrown away (As it wouldn't fit inside) and it was left there.So all in all it was comfortable, clean and quiet, but the service fell a lot short of basic levels of expectations. ibis Styles Hobart, Owner at Ibis Styles Hobart, responded to this review Dear HypnoWarrior,Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback following your stay with us.
