    Location was perfect, service was excellent and rooms were clean and modern and super comfortable. Really well thought out and designed. They even found somewhere for us to park our van!

    My wife and I stayed at The Moss Hotel twice in February 2026, during our time in Tasmania, once at each of the locations. We took advantage of the hotel's great location, walking to Battery Point, the CBD, Harbourside, and of course dining in the Salamanca area directly outside. The rooms were spotlessly clean, with good facilities and very comfortable. However, a special mention for the hotel staff, who were not only very friendly and welcoming, but helped us with booking very early morning (4am) taxis and forwarding items left at the hotel to our next destination - even calling us to confirm dispatch! Outstanding service and ai highly recommended hotel.

    Great room ruined by being directly over a pub which is open until 1.30 am with loud music.

    The room was well appointed and the bed very comfortable but the pub directly underneath the hotel plays loud music until 1.30 am so there is little chance to sleep.

    Location is great for the ferry, and there are plenty of places to eat and drink very close by. The room was spacious, although I am personally not a big fan of bathrooms with glass doors and additional glass panels directly in to the bedroom. Seems to be a trend..... The welcome was very friendly, although the reception is rather tucked away down the side street. It is not always manned, there is a number to call when there is no one there. I was disappointed to find only skylight windows which made the room feel rather dark, although for such a central location it was very quiet. As they are high up, you can't open them.

    As ever we really enjoyed our stay at Moss. Its a gorgeous hotel and prefectly situated in Salamanca which makes it super close to everything. The staff are lovely and the rooms are superbly appointed.So, another prefect stay at Moss and can't wait for the next one!
