    Beautiful resort

    rating07 Mar 2026

This was our first visit to the resort and overall it was a lovely stay. The presentation of the resort, gardens and pathways is beautifully maintained while still keeping a natural rural feel. It was also wonderful to see so much wildlife around the property. The reception staff were always welcoming whenever we visited, and nothing was too much trouble when we needed assistance. We dined at Beaches Restaurant and the food was both delicious and nicely presented. Just note that the restaurant is closed on Sundays and Mondays, so it’s worth planning ahead for those days.We stayed in a two-bedroom unit which was very spacious and generally well kept. The unit felt bright and airy, which made it a comfortable place to relax. The small courtyard outside was also a nice feature, offering good space and privacy. If I were to offer a small suggestion, the overall cleanliness could be improved slightly in areas such as under beds, and behind furniture, the glass doors. The beds could possibly be updated as well, as we personally didn’t find them very comfortable, although comfort is very subjective and everyone has different preferences. The little petting farm was a fantastic experience. Feeding the animals and spending time there was a real highlight of our stay. We were fortunate to have Hammond give us a tour, and his passion and enthusiasm for the property and animals really came through. The beach is just a short walk across the road and is very clean and peaceful. If you plan to explore beyond the resort, a hire car is recommended as the city of Hobart is about a 15–20 minute drive away, along with other surrounding attractions.Overall, we really enjoyed our stay and would happily recommend the resort to others looking for a relaxing base close to Hobart.

Tasmanian fun - nice resort by the beach.

    rating06 Jan 2026

We visited as the first stay of a three week visit to Australia. The resort is close to Hobart Airport, and was easy to find. Reception is clean and the staff were helpful. We stayed for 5 nights in a 3 bedroom and separate 1 bedroom lodge/apartment. These were clean and the self-catering aspects were well appointed. The accommodation was flexible, with lots of space to eat and relax. The rooms were easy to heat when needed and felt secure. This is a lovely resort, and the attraction of local wildlife - particularly pademelons was great. The pool was pleasant if a little cold, and there was a playground, small farm, some local produce which you could help yourself too (e.g. chives for cooking), and a gym and small entertainment room. Overall, very pleasant indeed. The only frustration was that the attached restaurant, Beaches, was closed on Sunday/Monday which made things a little more difficult. Good value for money, and somewhere I would definitely recommend for a stay in and around Hobart. One of the highlights was how close the residence is to the Seven Mile Beach - which was a huge asset.

    Luxury!

    rating11 Mar 2025

It’s a great location, near the airport and a short drive to Sorrell for shopping and half an hour from Hobart. We were very lucky to stay with friends here and even better in a luxurious three bedroom suite, number 44. Our bed was comfortable and the modern shower simple and effective. We took advantage of the BBQ. Our hosts used the washing machine and drier, that was in a cupboard! We had a look around the extensive grounds. There is a tennis court, a good pool with a gym, a playground for the younger kids and a games room to keep teenagers entertained. Though during our four days here I don’t think I saw any guest under 60 years old. There is farm with cows, sheep, goats and an owners’ garden where you might find some herbs and vegetables ready to pick.At reception a peacock, peahen and chicks greeted us. There are native hens everywhere. Some pademelons were in our back yard and rabbits were running everywhere. We dined well at Beaches restaurant onsite. My char grilled chicken had a good pesto but it too big for me. The accompanying risotto with tomato was tasty. We enjoyed a couple of bottles of Tasmanian wine, as you should.
