    ⸻I am writing to express my deep dissatisfaction with my recent experience at Mercure Echuca.Our group had booked four rooms approximately six months in advance and received formal confirmation at the time. However, while we were already en route—just one hour away after a four-hour journey—we received a phone call from the hotel advising that they had overbooked and could only provide two of the four rooms reserved. We were told they would attempt to source alternative accommodation for the remaining rooms.Given the circumstances and the inconvenience caused, we made our own arrangements elsewhere and declined the reduced booking.This experience reflects a serious lapse in booking management and customer service. To have confirmed accommodation cancelled at such short notice is both unacceptable and highly disruptive. It significantly impacted our travel plans and confidence in the reliability of the hotel.I would strongly encourage the management to review their reservation processes to ensure that other guests are not placed in a similar situation.

    Avoid MacDonalds side - order taking in drive through goes all night & will keep you awake. TV didn’t work, insufficient cutlery, shower head needs to be replaced. Disappointing experience.

    Quiet room - great place to have a good night's sleep

    I had a very comfortable stay here. If you are a light sleeper, I highly recommend requesting one of the many rooms away from the main street. It was also a bonus having secure on-site parking when driving back late at night. The rooms are clean and spacious, and the staff at reception were absolutely lovely.

    Room was perfectly adequate, nothing special, but comfortable. Location is great, easy to walk everywhere. Unfortunately our room was next to McDonald’s and we could hear the drive through speaker at night. Would recommend requesting the other side of the hotel!

    Being 70 and in a wheelchair I now have to have access rooms, my friends were here so we stayed as well. The room was your usual standard room with a queen and a single bed, however my one gripe was the queen bed on wheels we couldn’t find how to lock it and it moved making transfers a bit dodgy and on my last day I slipped to the floor. Being too proud I/We tried everything to get back up but in the end the wife went to the front desk and explained and the lady organised 3 people who arrived in 5 minutes who picked me up and solved my dilemma. 2 of the people were women and as every disabled person knows you have to put your modesty aside. Feeling very crest fallen my super heroes disappeared as quick as they had appeared and all I can say is terrific service and help for what can be an event that occurs more as you age or level of divisibility. Once more thank you. Also the motel is in a good spot being a short distance to cafes and the Port. We found it reasonably quiet and would have no problem staying here again. One disappointment was there is a restaurant but it wasn’t open but not really a problem as there are many options both in Echuca and Moama
