    Nothing Grand about this Hotel

    rating05 Jan 2026

Awful and expensive ….. go else where. We booked an Executive King room for 1 night at a cost of A$ 250. Upon arrival we were told that our room will be at the far end of the hotel after the swimming pool. To get there you need to pass the small area by the pool where there were bodies lying by the pool and kids screaming that you have to content with. The hallway to the room is narrow and dark. The room is like a dog box even if it is renovated. This room has no view of the pool ( not that is is very nice) though. We rejected the room for its position, the noise from the pool and the inconvenience to get into. We were then told that there is no other executive room even tho we booked 2 months ahead.. We were given the option of a spa room for the same price which is more spacious but old and dirty on the 1st floor which we eventually took. This room was beyond believe and expensive for what it is. The room stank when we first entered it but that went away after a while of having the aircon on. The windows facing pool area were old. The floor was uneven, the carpet was dirty, the walls were peeling and needed repair desperately etc. The bathroom looked newer than the state of the room. It did have a spa which we did not use as we are not into hotel room spas. At night, there were people walking and running outside our room in the hallway which shook our room floor and was very noisy. The room is so not sound proofed. So, our stay was not enjoyable at all and the room is certainly not what we expected for a $250 room !The reception area and garden is acceptable enough. We were told by the receptionist that they are renovating the rooms one by one which is fair enough. What is not fair is the price we paid for that room we had in a country town hotel. Wait till you renovate that room then you can charge that price. The first room we were given not worth that either because it is small and right by the road and the position it is at. We could not wait to get out of the place the next morning. The next night we stayed at Quest Bendigo for less than $180 which feels like heaven after a night in Mildura Grand Hotel. It was spacious with mod con and very very clean !

    Disappointing

    rating29 Dec 2025

The hotel is a rabbit warren. I was initially on my own, then with friends and on the 3rd occasion on my own. I stayed for 4 nights on 3 visits within 10 days. I had 3 rooms. The noise in the first room: I could hear the conversation of the people in the room across the hallway. The doors didn't reach the floor. I was woken frequently by what sounded like water 'banging' and or being heated through pipes + it felt like people leaving in the morning were in my room. Second room was spacious with a balcony but of things didn't work. After the 'service' person couldn't fix things on his third visit, I gave up. Third visit room was still noisy but nothing like the noise of my first two nights. Service: at reception information was inconsistent and information not passed on from one person to another. On one occasion, although I'd been told in writing the night before that breakfast was to be in a particular room when I arrived at that room the sign directed me to another place. Friends were shown a way to go internally from reception to the coffee shop, but I was sent out of the front door into the rain and told to go left then left again. The tourist office thought it was a pity I was staying at The Grand. It is certainly not grand but seems to have 'a name'. Unless you are passionate about the Grand's history, do not stay there. Service in the Coffee Shop was particularly slow. Not good when the opening hours were restricted and little staff early in the morning - early being 8am.

Don’t book until management is changed and this hotel is given a good deep cleaning.

    rating18 Dec 2025

We had booked prior to arriving but when we entered the room we decided not to unpack as there was mould around the windows and the rest of the room was dusty and clearly very poorly cleaned. We complained to management and were shown another room that was in the same state also there was rotten and broken furniture in the courtyard. Health department would have some serious issues with this property. This is a beautiful, old, grand building that is seriously in need of new management who actually care about what they do!

    Disappointing

    rating30 Nov 2025

We had stayed here some years ago and fondly remembered the hotel. Our recent stay was a disappointment. While we knew the hotel was a bit of a rabbit warren, on checkin reception gave us no directions and, having searched for some time, we had to return to ask.Our superior room with balcony was anything but superior. The balcony was totally glassed in, and the glass was very dirty. A large weed was sprouting from the window ledge outside. The balcony furniture was two old chairs. I had been looking forward to reading on the balcony, but it could not have been less inviting. The internal bathroom was small and shabby and lit by a cold blue light more appropriate in a public toilet. At least the bed was comfortable.

Noisy, dirty and dated. So many better options in Mildura

    rating04 Nov 2025

Noisy, dirty and dated. The walls are thin you can literally hear the conversations of the rooms around you. Stayed here for work, never again. So many better places
