Location

Ideally positioned on the white sands of Mission Beach, by the sparkling Coral Sea, the spa complex offers its guests a fantastic place to escape and relax. It is set on 14 km of exquisite sandy beach, with 20 tropical islands just offshore.

Facility

The complex has a lift and features 48 rooms. The friendly staff at the reception desk are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, a safe and a cash machine. Wireless internet access is provided in public areas. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions. The hotel offers various facilities for guests with disabilities. Wheelchair-accessible facilities are available. A number of shops, including a souvenir shop, are great for shopping or just browsing. A garden provides extra space for rest and relaxation in the open air. Additional facilities include a library. Parking spaces are available to guests travelling by car (for a fee). Other services include a 24-hour security service, a babysitting service, a childcare service, medical assistance, a transfer service, room service, a laundry service, a coin-operated laundry and a hotel shuttle bus. Bicycle storage is available to guests. There is a bike hire service as well. A fax machine is available for guests' business needs.

Rooms

Rooms are equipped with air conditioning and a fan. Guests can relax and enjoy the sea views from the balcony or private terrace of some rooms. Rooms have a double bed, a queen-size bed, a king-size bed or a sofa bed. Children's beds and extra beds can be requested for younger guests. A safe, a minibar and a desk are also available. There is a fully-equipped kitchenette with a refrigerator, microwave, tea/coffee station and dishwasher. An ironing set is provided for guests' convenience. A telephone, a TV, a radio and WiFi (no extra charge) are provided as well. Bathrooms are equipped with a shower and a bathtub, as well as a hairdryer. For extra comfort in the bathrooms, guests are offered cosmetic products. The complex has family rooms and non-smoking rooms.

Sport

There are indoor and outdoor pools and a children's swimming area. A short break or an entire afternoon on the sun terrace, which features sun loungers and parasols, is time well spent. A variety of refreshing drinks await guests at the pool bar. A variety of activities such as cycling/mountain biking, beach volleyball, fishing and horse riding or, for a fee, tennis, are offered at the hotel. A wide range of sports are available, including water sports such as canoeing, sailing, kayaking, snorkelling and diving or, for a fee, jet skiing. The fitness rooms are perfect for a comprehensive workout. Various wellness options are available at the complex, including a spa, a sauna, a steam bath and massage treatments. Parents can unwind while the kids can participate in an entertainment programme full of fun activities.

Meals

Dining facilities include a restaurant, a café and a bar. Refreshing drinks at the beach bar are a perfect way to enjoy warm weather. Breakfast and lunch are served every day. The menu also offers diet meals and children's meals. In addition, special catering options and picnics are available.

    Don't, just dont!

    We've dined at Castaways a number of times over the years, things have changed recently and not for the better. A few weeks ago we dined with another couple, the place was quite empty with only three other tables used. The menu had changed from our previous visit and so had the prices. Given that it was such a slow night I'm not sure why it took an hour and a half for our mains to come out after the entrees. Firstly mine and the lady from the other couple's came out, and took a full ten minutes for the other two mains to be served. Generally this wouldn't rile me too much but my steak was stone motherless cold when it was served, but the vegies were still hot. The steak, a sirloin I think, looked like it had been cooked in a sandwich press. I'm still trying to come to grips with the fact that I paid more than fifty bucks for a poorly cooked cold steak with no table service and waited a ridiculous length of time for the pleasure. Worst dining in Mission Beach ever.

    Great place, terrible management experience

    I’ve always liked this place the food is good, and most of the staff are friendly and hardworking. However, my recent experience with the manager completely changed how I feel about coming here. His rude and dismissive attitude made me feel uncomfortable and unwelcome, even though I’ve been a loyal customer. It’s really disappointing to see someone in a leadership role treat people so poorly. I hope management takes this seriously, because the rest of the team deserves better and so do the customers.

    Lovely location. Beware though Mission beach little Village is totally a construction site. Shops are open but it is not pleasant to walk around...and tricky. This resort is in need of a facelift and now a chain resort in new hands. Ask before booking as they already have renovations started so could get noisy and not relaxing. Be much nicer when completed we felt. So also we felt too expensive really for what it is ATM.

    Great Location But Tired Facilities

    The place needs a complete makeover. Rooms are clean but tired with leaky taps and shabby inclusions. The food was poor and we only ate at the restaurant once over our 4 night stay. Great location and hope the new owners address the shortcomings.

    CLUB WYNDHAM is part of a Club, where the Public is Welcome to stay, that owns Resorts World Wide and this Resort will be just one of Hundreds. We have stayed here for 2 weeks at a time for the last 3 years and still rate this venue, view of beach and surrounds as our favorite in Australia, the Mission Beach has been rated as second best beach in all of Queensland in the past.This venue is in need of of a refurbishment and Club Wyndham will now complete this, although we have noticed in our 3 stays that things could be better, here in Australia this is still our favorite resort.I have traveled for over 2 whole years in my life on holiday, including in total 7 months in South America.
