    Experience at Desert Gardens Hotel

    rating16 Sept 2026

I stayed at Desert Gardens Hotel in Australia. The atmosphere was quite peaceful and comfortable, with gardens surrounding the hotel. The location is also convenient for visiting Uluru, and there are facilities such as a swimming pool and a shuttle around the resort. The room was fairly spacious and comfortable, although some parts looked a little old. The service was good and the staff were friendly. Overall, the hotel was quite comfortable, especially if your main goal is to enjoy the surroundings and visit Uluru. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Thank you, Adelemgalmp, for your review. We are delighted to hear you enjoyed the peaceful surroundings, convenient location and friendly service at Desert Gardens Hotel.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team

    Fabulous

    rating01 Sept 2026

We can’t fault our stay at Desert Gardens Hotel — everyone’s service was excellent.A special thank you to Kenneth. We noticed Kenneth was a trainee from the Indigenous program and were very impressed with the service he provided. We approached him with questions about dinner reservations, accessing the menu and the Accor rewards program.Kenneth took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure we had all the information we needed. He was friendly, approachable, professional and genuinely helpful.Kenneth is a wonderful representative of both Desert Gardens Hotel and the Indigenous training program, and we hope his excellent customer service is recognised. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Dear Julieanne,Thank you for your feedback. We are delighted to hear you had such a fabulous stay at Desert Gardens Hotel. We truly appreciate your kind recognition of Kenneth and will be sure to share your lovely comments.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team

“A Good Mid-Range Option at Ayers Rock Resort”

    rating01 Aug 2026

Desert Gardens Hotel is a good and comfortable choice within Ayers Rock Resort. It is positioned below the five-star Sails in the Desert but offers a solid standard with clean rooms and all the necessary amenities. While there is no real luxury, the hotel meets expectations and provides everything needed for a pleasant stay. Overall, it is a good option for those looking for comfortable accommodation without paying for the resort’s top-tier hotel. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Dear eatgoodeverywhere,Thank you for your positive feedback. We’re delighted you enjoyed your comfortable stay at Desert Gardens Hotel and appreciated our facilities and convenient location. We hope to welcome you back again.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team

Very disappointing for the price tag

    rating31 Jul 2026

The hotel is beyond expensive for what it provides. Our room was very basic and really filthy. The tiles in the entrance of the room and in the bathroom were sticky and dirty, the rest of the room had a colorful carpet, I don’t think it was ever cleaned. The toilet had brown and permanent stains inside, the walls and surfaces had stains and visible marks. The sliding glass door leading to the balcony was also very dirty and stained. The balcony dirty as well, equipped with stained and sticky plastic chairs. I asked for the room to be cleaned again but it didn’t change anything. I do understand that this is the desert and sand is basically everywhere BUT a room would not look like that if cleaned efficiently on a day to day basis, also the stains were not due to sand but a lack of thorough cleaning. This is also true for the rest of the property since pathways are not swept daily. Everything looks more like a youth hostel and less like a resort for 600 AUD per night.Other than that the food for lunch and dinner were good but breakfast is also very basic and heavy on the processed carbohydrates. I would recommend the cafe at the town square instead or the supermarket instead. On the positive side: staff is very nice, tours run smoothly and I can recommend the camel tours. I personally would not recommend more than two nights here and bring slippers for the room since they are not provided. It was by far the most expensive part of our travel through Australia and I would not repeat this destination because of the lack of other, reasonable places to stay. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Dear Piswig,Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re pleased you enjoyed the friendliness of our team, the tours, and camel experiences. We’re sorry to hear that the cleanliness and condition of your room did not meet expectations. Your comments regarding housekeeping, room presentation, and dining have been shared with our teams for review as we continue to improve the guest experience.Thank you again for your feedback.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team

Desert Gardens served a purpose !

    rating10 Jul 2026

Our family of 6 stayed here for two nights during a vacation to Australia - Despite its basic exterior appearance - the hotel bedrooms are nice, spacious & comfortable. The hotel is basic - but knows how to charge - our meal in the restaurant was very expensive & not at all good. On reflection a 1 night stay here would have been enough - Ayers Rock Uluru is spectacular and I am delighted we have seen it but there is very limited amount of things to do here - limited amenities within the hotel outside of whatever activities you may pre book - we booked the field of lights experience with dinner (expensive but a unique experience) and the biking around Ayers Rock - recommend both but defo in our opinion 1 night here is enough. Staff were a mixed bunch of helpful & friendly v not suited to the industry ! This place served a purpose - we needed somewhere to stay and it ticked that box. Ayers Rock Resort Manager, General Manager at Desert Gardens Hotel, responded to this review Thank you, Anita, for taking the time to share your feedback regarding your recent stay at Desert Gardens Hotel. We are pleased to hear you enjoyed the comfort of your room and the experiences you were able to enjoy during your visit to Uluru. We also appreciate your comments regarding the dining experience and service, and your feedback has been shared with our operational and food & beverage teams for review.Kind regards,Ayers Rock Resort Team
