  Stayed for 4 nights and room is not serviced for that length of stay but we were fine with that. They left plenty of towels and if we needed anything else we just asked. We prefer having the extra space for that length of stay and we found it well equipped. Everything you need is a short walk away, alternatively there is a free resort shuttle every 20 minutes or so. Being an ex hospitality manager I noticed upon checkout we were not asked if we’d enjoyed our stay or even a thanks for staying with us. Additionally she was training someone!   These apartments are mid way between Desert Gardens hotel and the Town Square so very convenient for supermarket shopping and also pick up point for tours.The apartment itself was very spacious with a kitchen, washing machine and dryer, dining area, lounge area, small balcony, bedroom and ensuite.The bed was comfortable but unfortunately the fan could not be switched off in the bathroom which meant I could hear it "buzzing" all night. The walls are also quite thin. We could hear the baby next door crying and later in the week, we could hear the children in the apartment above us running up and down their apartment.The receptionist was very helpful and professional but they close at 5.00pm, so if you need anything after that, you have to go to the Desert Gardens Hotel reception.Overall I would recommend the Emu Walk apartments as a base for your Uluru adventure.   Way overpriced, not clean and almost dangerous!

  When you charge more than $1100 a night for a small 2 bedroom apartment you have to make sure a few things are right. This is the perfect set up for us as family with small children: room for all, kitchen to cook and a bit of space to relax and play. We understand the unique set up and remote location which makes everything harder. You can see the buildings are a bit tired and while the apartments have been refurbished, it show some age but that is not a problem. The shower and toilet aren't in the best condition either but that is not a problem either. However when you have to pay that kind of money to have dust, stained carpets, what we thought might be small pieces of glass in the kitchen and a small army of bugs in every curtains, that is not acceptable. There is a 2cm gap at the bottom of the entrance door which obviously let everything get through (we had to put a towel overnight to block it). When packing up the next morning, my partner even found a 10+cm long centipede under one of the sofa bed. If you do not know them, have a look online, their bite is incredibly painful and our youngest was sleeping on that bed! Tried to get a photo of it but the thing was quick. When mentioned on checkout, the answer was basically sorry and we will mention that to our team.... This is what you get when you have the whole market and no competition. Pay or get lost... I want to say we won't be back but we probably will as we enjoy Uluru / Kata Tjuta very much and there is unfortunately no other choice of place to stay. Would just be great that things that can be relatively easy to fix / improve are done.. Given our remote desert location we do experience more wildlife than is seen in metro locations.   Great stay, comfortable. Lots of amenities in a small area.

  Emu Apartments are a 5 min walk from the centre where there is a cafe, restaurant, information centre, supermarket, souvenir shop. The apartments are very basic. The bed was clean and comfortable. The bed settee was not very comfortable but clean bedding. We found a few spiders and mentioned it to reception who sent someone round to spray and hoover again. The toilet was stained but I was told this was due to the high mineral content in the local water supply, which is common in remote areas. I found the locks were very flimsy and didn't feel they were secure. Reception staff were professional and friendly. We could use the pool in the Dessert hotel next door which is a sister hotel and there is a restaurant there which looked very good. We had to hand our key card in at the Dessert hotel because our reception was closed. There are a few other hotels in the small area and a bar at the Outback Hotel and you can buy alcohol here to take home. Basically, the area is like a big camp . You can walk round it or take a free hop on/off bus which staff also use. Aboriginal people can be seen around the square in the centre selling their paintings. You are not allowed to barter and they seem to charge around 100AUD. Free pick up and drop off at the airport is offered. There is lots of free things going on at different parts of the centre. Talks, painting etc; We stayed for 2 nights so we could do the sunrise and sunset tours which are fantastic.   Great accommodation when visiting Ayers Rock

  Really great accommodation for visiting Ayers Rock. Comfortable and spacious apartment. Tours leave from the hotel next door which is a five minute walk. The apartments are very close to the shops including a supermarket which is a 5 to 10 minute walk away. There is really good air conditioning. The WiFi worked well. There is a washer and separate dryer and they provide detergent.
