    Pleasant hotel

Comfortable hotel, but be aware that if you want a room with a view, it costs extra (we paid $25 per night) but the room had a large KS bed. Continental breakfast was very good - plenty of choice. Reception staff very pleasant and helpful.

    A pleasant and Relaxing Experience

    rating20 Jan 2026

I was a bit unsure about my decision to book at the Lord Forrest Hotel based on earlier reviews, however my children and I had a wonderful time. All staff were very pleasant from check in, housekeeping, breakfast staff etc. It's evident that care has been taken by Management to enhance the hotel and there is a very relaxed and welcoming atmosphere - I especially loved the decor around the restaurant and bar area. Bathroom and showers are clean. The breakfast is fantastic - lots of variety! The fresh fruit, barista coffee and hot buffet was impressive and care is also taken with the presentation. The kids enjoyed swimming in the pool (note it is cold). The hotel is in an ideal location - a very short stroll to the beach, restaurants and cafe's etc. Room service is offered too, however we didn't avail this time. I recommend to families and couples and if you book the breakfast ahead of time you do get a discounted rate rather than paying on the day.

    Adequate for a short stay

Clean and well presented room. The wifi didn’t work but we could log in to streaming services we subscribe to on the smart tv. Comfy bed. Centrally located hotel with many cafes nearby. Very little parking onsite. This is an atrium hotel with a pool so some noise is inevitable but bearable.

    Drug User Hotel

    rating23 Dec 2025

I stay at the Lord Forest Hotel for business at least once a month, however this visit was very different as I brought my family with me — and unfortunately, it will be the last time we stay here.Check-in was extremely slow due to their systems not working. While technical issues happen, the staff member handling our check-in was rude and unhelpful, making the system failure feel like it was somehow our problem rather than offering an apology or assistance. The restaurant deserves credit — the food is genuinely amazing. Unfortunately, the service does not match the quality of the meals, which was disappointing. The rooms are okay and fit for purpose but are extremely basic, old, and outdated. More concerning was the hot water, which ran yellow like rusted water — the hot water system clearly needs attention. The biggest issue, however, was the environment. There were a number of undesirable guests staying at the hotel during our visit. I would absolutely not recommend bringing family here. There were people openly partying, multiple guests clearly under the influence of drugs, and one incident where a man on the top floor, shirtless, was yelling and screaming at people walking past — clearly drug affected. It felt unsafe and completely inappropriate for a family stay.Given what we witnessed, I have contacted the Department of Health, as drug use (including smoking substances in rooms) poses a serious health risk to future guests.I will not be staying here again in the foreseeable future, and I strongly recommend others — especially families — stay elsewhere.

    Nightmare stay

    rating07 Nov 2025

★☆☆☆☆ DO NOT STAY HERE – ABSOLUTE NIGHTMARE EXPERIENCEI will NEVER stay at the Bunbury Lord Forest Hotel again and I will strongly warn absolutely everyone I know to avoid this place entirely. When we arrived, we could not even access the driveway properly because a car was parked blocking it. That SAME car stayed there the entire night until we left the next morning. Zero monitoring. Zero staff care. Zero control of the property. The parking bays we were advised were “onsite” are an absolute joke. They are so ridiculously small that you cannot park comfortably at all. Some people were literally forced to park across TWO bays because it was physically impossible to fit their vehicle properly. When we went to the room – there wasn’t even a proper ceiling light. Only tiny bedside lamps. The room was so dark at night we could barely see a thing. The bathroom doesn’t even have a proper exhaust fan either – just absolutely poor design and clearly no care for guest comfort. Then the worst part… The room right next to us partied ALL NIGHT. Extremely loud music, screaming, swearing, banging on walls – and we could not sleep at all. This was TERRIBLE and absolutely unacceptable. From 12:30am onward I attempted to notify staff. I went to reception. Completely empty. A tiny note saying “back shortly”. Tried calling reception – the phone message said they were unavailable. Went back again at 4am. EMPTY. Phones off. Went again at 5am. STILL NO ONE. No after-hours number. No emergency contact. NOTHING. We did not feel safe being here at all. This hotel absolutely failed at every single basic expectation of a hotel. Parking, lighting, noise control, security, staff availability – ALL FAILED.This was one of the worst hotel experiences I have ever had in my life and I would not wish it on anyone.Avoid this hotel. Do not risk your stay, do not waste your money and do not trust that you will be able to get any help from staff whatsoever.
