    KEEPING UP STANDARDS

    rating12 Sept 2026

This Hotel has been a fantastic family favourite for many years. Apparently it has been taken over by a new company called Finney's. The Receptionists and most staff were excellent and very helpful. The previous owners 'had it right' - do not change anything. To be told at breakfast the Buffet Breakfast is no longer available but to choose from a very basic and mean spirited + limited menu is disappointing. Please give your returning and new guests good food and good value . I'm not sure to be honest you have a qualified Chef. The Dinner Menu needs to be amended. The standard of food on the Dinner menu was terrible. A small examples -Mushy peas with fish and chips are NOT frozen peas served cold alongside the fish.Seafood Chowder in a bread 'bowl' with more corn and hardly any seafood. Expensive Steak tough enough for leather soles on shoes.Bacon and egg at breakfast impossible to cut intoCOME ON MANAGEMENT - YOU HAVE AN INCREDIBLE OPPORTUNITY !!!DO NOT WASTE IT!!! Incidentally communication with an AI receptionist is a fraught with misinformation and lost bookings.

    Vintage, good place to stay

    rating17 May 2026

Our room was in an old homestead type building with the room itself fully refurbished but the shell in its original format, complete with creaky boards and old style door locks. It was unique and quite quaint. Room itself was excellent with a good bed and easy to sleep on. Bathroom had a spa bath which added to the enjoyment. The hotel is some distance from a town yet there seemed to be a lot of people there at all times and lots of attractions in close driving vicinity. Dinner was standard hotel fare with similar prices. There seemed to be a lot to do at the place during the day and the rose garden and night walk are worth doing. Good place to stay.Disliked · Access to the room was a little 'hairy' having to drive through narrow openings and turning down a blind dirt incline but the way out was much easier.

    Wonderful Quiet coastal stay.

Booked an apartment at the Yanchep Caves house. The main property is beautifully appointed. Lovely gardens and store, bakery, bottlo next door. The apartment was spacious, comfortable and well furnished. Great little kitchen. Verandah lovely overlooking the gardens. Staff friendly, helpful and professional Couldn’t fault it. ( firm mattress….) 2 min drive for amazing sunset views at the beach.

    Maybe look elsewhere

    rating07 Feb 2026

Booked here as recommended by a friend who visited some time ago.It hasn't maintained that standard or clearly not improved since then. The hotel rooms are a little rustic and lack AC, but initially I gave the place the benefit of a doubt and hope .The food is dreadful, the staff seem to have run out of caring points and look around to see if they can spot anyone that gives a damn about your complaint, with no success.I complained to the french waiter and he laughed at my comment and walked off.The wifi is pretty much non existent, the tv in the room is only able to view online media, so hence is non existent.A real lack of investment and care is apparentAll in all I wish we had booked elsewhere....maybe so should you
