Disappointing dinners in a good hotel

    rating10 Feb 2026

Good hotel with a large social bar area. Restaurant is not good, only one course, no alternatives offered and some day very low quality dishes. Dessert is a 1x2 cm cake almost every evening, so skip the evening meal and book a restaurant in the village, will be much better food for the value!

    Change of Control

    rating21 Jan 2026

Hotel taken over by Heart Group of Denmark in 2024 and appears to be interested in only welcoming Scandinavian guests, thus removing their regular British guests who previously frequented it. Heart Group are doing their best but even Scandinavian guests weren't very impressed. I do hope they've learnt from the critisism heaped on them but I may never find out unless they re-start welcoming the hotel's previous customers like me.

An attractive hotel let down by its food

    rating21 Jul 2025

We spent a week here travelling in a party of ten. Positives:Our superior room was spacious and comfortable, with a three seater sofa and dining type chair, ample storage space and hangers and a seoarate bathroom and toilet. The spa was as expected and we enjoyed the pool and the hot tub.All staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was fine, though birchermuesli woukd have been nice.Negatives:The evening meals were not of a standard we would expect from a four star hotel in Austria. There was no salad bar and on four days the starter was soup. The desserts were tiny (mince pie sized). On the evening when we had curry the naan bread was served cold. This hotel changed hands over the winter and the overall impression was of an attractively furnished hotel let down by its food. The majority of the staff were young and whilst they were very pleasant and helpful it seemed as if it has become more of a chalet hotel. Despite the positives we would not stay there again.

Could have been a lot better

    rating22 Apr 2025

The rooms were excellent and the staff friendly. The hotel is weak in the food. Breakfast scrambled eggs and something which was supposed to be bacon but resembled pork scratchings was clearly put out first thing then allowed to go cold. The set evening meal was also served lukewarm. Clearly the new tenants are trying to maximise profit at the expense of guest satisfaction.

Criticisms seemed to have been acknowledged making this a good value hotel

    rating10 Mar 2025

We had stayed at this hotel several times before, New owners are a Danish hotel chain, and we had reservations following reading Feb reviews. We ( a group of 6) are pleased to report there have been significant improvements in the restaurant. We found the quality, food temperature and quantity have improved, since those of recent disappointed reviewers. Yes the choice is more restricted but we were very satisfied particularly as the overall cost is better value now, which is a very significant factor. The cleanliness of rooms and hotel in general is high, The staff were lovely, polite and enthusiastic. The wellness centre/pool is also excellent and very accessible. We would happily go again especially as overall value is high. Well done for addressing negative reviews so positively.
