Good place for a great night!

    rating24 Jun 2025

The single bed was perfect for what I needed. Exploring Seefeld and the area then returning to the room to a confortable bed was perfect for me. The person at the front desk was very helpful and pleasant to interact with. The only downside was that parking is about a kilometre away and a ~15 minute walk. Although, to me, it did not really matter since I was never in a rush. Other than that, it was great. The restaurant was really good too with the selection of beer and food! Daniela Kaltschmid, General Manager at Gasthof Batzenhausl, responded to this review Thank you for the positiv review, we would be very pleased to welcome you again in our hotel. Best regards Family Kaltschmid & Team

Basic hotel in a great location, but Seefeld is predominantly a german holiday destination

    rating14 Feb 2024

Positives: great location, stunning views, right next to the olympiabad (great waterslides). 5 minute walk to the slopes, Clean rooms, cheese soup and groestler amazing.Negatives: Seefeld in general as a British holiday destinationI attempted to speak schoolboy German, and even used Google translate in attempt to show a want to communicate, but this was generally met with resistance across the resort. The staff in the hotel only spoke german (they are Austrian, why wouldnt they??) So communicating was difficult when needs arose. This was made moreover when we dined in the restaurant at the hotel one evening. My daughter became quite ill after eating there and I tried to explain to a member of staff (via Google translate) that she had been very ill, and that we needed the room cleaned and fresh bed linen which im sure wasnt understood in its urgency. Thankfully I found someone who spoke a little English and we communicated in gestures amd they then kindly asked the chambermaids to clean the room immediately. They were lovely by the waySome might say english arrogance assumes eveyone should speak english, and no one should be expected to speak anything other than their native tongue, but communication between guests and hotel staff is important and in this case was impossible as no English was spoken. This not a slight on the hotel but rather the hotel operators who neglect to divulge the information and could actually make the experience nicer for both guest and service workers alike. So as a suggestion, maybe reserve rooms for only those who are german speakers. Other guests across the resort have commented people to be quite rude and avoided any contact. I've always enjoyed the interaction of a little german on my side, and a little English on the other so as to muddle through which doesn't appear to be found here.Having been to central austria many times and loved it, my advice is pay a bit more and go somewhere else in Austria if you cannot speak at least a little converstional German.

Nice holiday in Seefeld and Gasthof Batzenhausl

    rating06 Aug 2023

Overall good stay in Gasthof Batzenhausl. Room was good with nice balcony. Breakfast was also good. Restaurant atmosphere and terrace area was nice.Information for my half pension between staff was not best. When check-in the receptionist said half pension wasn´t included eventhough I had paid for it which made me feel little bad. In a moment he corrected that it is included. Staff didn´t inform me properly what was included in my dinner. At first day dinner waitress told me dinner is not included which had to be checked from reception. Lack of information between staff and customer was only thing that made me feel little bit bad.

When we were in Seefeld this January, we ate here several times. The food was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful. We especially enjoyed the opportunity to try several local dishes. I definitely recommend this restaurant.
