  Great hotel for a late ski trip

  We had a fantastic time at Das Alpenhaus for a late ski trip with our 10yr old. We stayed in a larger room which had a balcony, lounge and an extra child’s bed. The room was clean and well equipped. The food offering was plentiful and good quality, a huge selection at breakfast with 4 daily changing main meal options for dinner (one vegetarian and one vegan) and a huge salad bar to start. There was a separate menu for the children which the adults could also choose from. The swimming pool and spa area were good for the family. All the staff couldn't do enough for us including the fantastic bar man called Yohia. In terms of location it was a few minutes walk to the Maiskogelbahn lift which takes you to the 3K connection to access Langwied and the higher Glacier (these 2 lifts take around 40 minutes in total to reach Langwied); when you reach there you can hire ski equipment and use the ski depot to make it easier than carrying them on the lift especially with kids (2 euros per pair of skis overnight). Overall a thoroughly pleasant stay and would higher recommend for a late ski trip as the snow on the glacier was excellent.

  Far exceeded our expectations!!! Food was Fabulous!!

  Our stay at the Alpenhaus was fabulous and far exceeded our expections. Our balconyroom was spacious, clean, warmly decorated and luxurious. The welcome at the reception was friendly,professional and efficiënt. We could park our car in the hotels underground parking, which had lots of space also for larger cars. Due to the hotels location we did not use our car at all, which was great. The Skilift/ Slope was within a 5 minute walk from the Hotel. Skipass was available at the reception. The friendliness of the staff was warm and honest and you immediately felt at home . All our dinners were excellent and the presentation of the main dishes that were being served deserves 5 stars ! Salads and soups were available at the Buffet as well as the Desserts. Then again you could also order desserts and other maincourses from a Special Menu with no extra Charge . As experienced travelers, our Dinner experience here has by far exceeded our expectations. The pool, sauna , jacuzzi s were again more then we expected, all new, clean, large and well maintained. We did not make use of the massages offered but the hotel offered many Wellness Treatments. When we come back to Kaprun we will defenitly book at this hotel again! Due to the Hotels quality we had an amazing Holiday as the weather was unfortunately not that nice. To sum it up, Das Alpenhaus Kaprun is the best Hotel you can book in Kaprun!!

  NEVER AGAIN!!!!

  Never again. Unfortunately, I have to share a very unpleasant stay full of bizarre situations and I want to warn anyone who might be tempted by the photos of this hotel. We stayed here from February 19 to 24, 2026. Right upon arrival, we were unpleasantly surprised by the fact that parking is not included in the considerable accommodation fee. However, in the end, this was the smallest problem. On the very first day, an unpleasant situation happened when a colleague, excited for the first day of skiing, forgot his entire wallet in the hotel room nightstand. Yes, you might say there is a safe.... but the plan was to take the wallet and pay for ski passes in cash. In the past, one would have made the trip back to the hotel, but today is an advanced time, so we all took out our mobile phones, paid, and went skiing. An unpleasant surprise awaited us immediately after returning to the room. The wallet did remain in the nightstand, but its contents did not. He had 500 euros and 2000 Czech crowns stolen. We reported this immediately at the reception. To our surprise, the receptionist responded in a manner – there are no cameras in the hotel and this is not our problem. Stop by tomorrow, maybe the manager will be here. After insisting, she called a colleague, who introduced himself as a manager, (but upon departure it turned out that they had not contacted any manager at all). Nevertheless, he asked us not to go to the police, that he would talk to the staff, and that we should stop by the next day. The next day they only informed us that no one had seen anything suspicious and that was it. Therefore, we went to the police to report the entire incident; the police assured us that since it involves a significant amount of money, there would be an investigation and questioning of the hotel, with the conclusion sent later. At the same time, they pointed out that the hotel should have automatically issued us an incident report, which did not happen. They only did so on the last day of our stay, after we had asked at the reception every day. During the entire stay, not a single apology or offer of a solution to the situation was made. At the end of the stay, an annoyed temporary worker handed us the bill for the room, along with 2 packs of tissues labeled 'don't cry.' That receipts appeared in our accounts even though they did not belong to our room and did not correspond to our expenses was resolved on-site. The biggest bizarre aspect of the whole stay was probably that immediately upon arrival my colleague reported water not draining in the shower, for which they wanted to charge us 100 euros upon departure. Truly incomprehensible. I will not comment on the food and service. Never this hotel again, and I really strongly warn everyone not to be lured by the nice photos on Booking. PS: For a stay at this hotel with half-board, we paid 26,000 crowns per person including the check and parking 31000 czech crowns that is around 1200 euro per person…

  Nice hotel with great location

  Location perfect from the main Gondola, about 2 minutes walk. A nice and friendly hotel. Staff made great effort to make guests (us) feel welcome. Breakfast was great.Rooms were nice, though I thought the shower in the suite good be larger and more powerful, so that we wouldn't have to bend forward to shower our body. A shower curtain of some sort would also help.Special mention and praise for Mahmoud at the reception lobby, who went above and beyond to assist us and to whom we are very grateful and also Barbara in the restaurant, who showed genuine engagement and initiative to ensure we are enjoying the restaurant.

  Stunning Views, Delicious Food & Total Comfort

  I’ve stayed at Das Alpenhaus Kaprun several times during my winter ski trips, and it never disappoints. The rooms are very comfortable and the views are absolutely amazing — waking up to the mountains is just perfect. The food is another highlight: the dinners feel like they’re from a Michelin-star restaurant — truly delicious every time.A fantastic hotel with great service — can’t wait to return again soon!
