The setting is good the accommodation is a little dark and dirty, we wanted to remove the carpet from the sliding bathroom, there was plenty of dirt underneath... the microwave does not work the carpets were dirty and underneath it was no better the corner of the bed was gnawed and the dishes not very clean... It is not very suitable for children from 0 to 4/5 years The floor is extremely slippery in the bathroom if it is wet and the stairs to access the accommodation is dangerous.Despite all this the staff were very nice. Avoid ferienwohnun Luca

    rating04 Dec 2019

My strong recommendation for you is avoid apartment 'FERIENWOHNUNG LUCA'. It's located in separate building, in the basement, under owners private garage. It looks nice only in the pictures and their web-pages do not mention that it's in the basement. There are only small windows on the bedrooms and only window in living room / kitchen is in front door and you can see only external stairs up from that window. Might otherwise work for skiing trip, but this apartment also smells like basement (mould was also visible in ceilings). We could not stay there longer than one night. Also cleaning was quite poor and owners were not willing to fix problems or give us better room or apartment. Very poor service attitude and my worst experience in Austria ever by far.

    What a great week!

    rating26 Feb 2017

Just got back from a week's vacation skiing in Austria. We (7 of us) stayed at Hotel Silvretta. We loved it. The rooms are nice and clean. Probably not quite up to north american standards - but very functional and clean. And a good job with the daily service of the room.Outstanding shuttle service to the hills. Prompt and courteous pickup and delivery. Never had to wait for a lift - or drive and battle the big parking lots. This is a real perk. But the best of it all was the dinner. Both the prix fix and the a la carte were outstanding. I haven't eaten that well in a very long time. Every dinner was great. We had some picky eaters with us - and even they loved it all. I think I gained 10 pounds. Service at dinner was always great and very personable.Breakfast was good - but it can get a little picked over. The coffee is very good.Overall, the service was outstanding. They even offered to do my son's laundry (he travelled with a bag of dirty laundry!) - and never charged us for it.I highly recommend this as a family place to stay and enjoy. Thank you, Silvretta!

A hotel ruined by the staff in the restaurant

    rating01 Feb 2016

The hotel is not a 4 star hotel, maybe 3 star at best, the local tourist board are joking.Although very little English is spoken, the staff are by and large quite friendly, the big exception is the staff in the restaurant. The two serving staff are just dreadful, on our first night, we were sat at a table with 2 complete strangers, they seemed as embarrassed as us, we complained, but to no avail, even though there was an empty table next to us, the staff were not going to budge. The second night a row occurred between the restaurant staff and us, they virtually ordered us to sit where they decided they wanted us, when we complained to the waitress, she involved other hotel guests, discussing the incident with us in German, in a vain attempt to embarrass us. Then add in the eyesore of a caravan park attached to the hotel, you have to wonder how the local tourist board made the Silvretta 4 star.

A real gem of a hotel. Excellent service, delicous meals, pristine rooms and a fun, cheerful atmospher.

    rating05 Jan 2011

This is a small, family run hotel. Do not be put off by the camp site next door. It is a lovely hotel with brilliant service. The location is convenient for down hill skiing and cross country. The hotel runs a free "on demand" shuttle service to the lifts so no need to drive back and forth with bulky ski equipment. The hotel arranged ski passes and ski school and had good suggestions of things to do when we wanted a break from skiing. The rooms were immaculate and practical with enough wardrobe space for all the things you need on a winter holiday. The restaurant was fantastic. We stayed 6 nights and every meal was delicious and with enough variety that we never bored of the menu. There is a wellness centre with sauna, 2 steam rooms, whirlpool etc but the hotel was fully booked so it was a bit busy. The atmosphere is friendly and cheerful and all requests are dealt with effortlessly and with a smile. We look forward to our next visit!
