    Not as advertised go elsewhere

    rating17 Sept 2023

This hotel is situated in a lovely location, but that is all.. firstly, the amenities are advertised as having a bar/lounge. THERE IS NEITHER, there is nowhere to sit and relax apart from the dining room, remaining at your table after evening meal, not very comfortable, you cant go in here in the daytime. Don't be fooled by the advertised SPA at this hotel as the closest thing to resemble this is either your over bath shower or the bird bath outside!! Special Diet Menu is also advertised. They don't cater for vegetarians, vegans, etc. at all. There is a fixed menu that basically tells you what you are getting with no exceptions. Evening entertainment is non existant unless you pay an extra £15 each and this is only an option when they can accommodate you and to put more money in their pockets, as the hotel put on 2 nights of entertainment in the week we stayed there only inviting us to one as there were empty tables. As a result of this we were moved from the dining room and had to eat our evening meal in a small room which was hot and very uncomfortable and overcrowded. 6 adults crammed rond a table for 4, in order for the owners to provide entertainment for outside PAYING visitors for the evening. The owner introduced himself on the first night giving a welcome speech but failed to mention the upcoming events he had planned, clearly knowing it would cause upset. One of the starters one evening was a plate of beef and bread. When asked about the vegetarian options, I was told my wife could have a slice of cheese! A salad was refused.Treated like second-class citizens, not like paying all-inclusive guests. The safe in our room did not work, reported, and waited and waited for this to be fixed. Nothing was done all week, no offer to change room and no attempt to fix it. Beds creaky and like lying on a slab of marble. No lifts, no carpets on slippery marble stairs, one elderly guest slipped banged and cut her head, trip in ambulance to hospital for stitches. Advertised as packed lunch provided, you pick up a wet plastic bag with a piece of fruit and a biscuit in it then have to make your own sandwich from what is left over from breakfast, nothing provided to wrap/place it in apart from use your breakfast napkin, soggy and horrible hours later. No drink provided, not even a bottle of water, call this a provided packed lunch!!Breakfast is a joke, juice machine is placed in a position where only 1 person can get to it (when it worked), tea, coffee, milk and other things are also in this potion making people rush and congregate in an already small room. Don't expect to be nourished at breakfast. There's no toaster, nothing really apart from dry cheese and ham and stale cereals and bread, all white bread, no brown, bread is in a position that when you are cutting it you are completely blocking access..Dinner is a joke, frozen veg, escalops 3 nights out of 5, one example being escalop and rice and peas, or you can have just rice and peas!! Dessert for 3 nights was tinned fruit with a scoop of ice cream... you get this even when it's not on the menu...Bring some insect repellent as quite a lot on my trip were nibbled during the night. I would like to hope this is midges and not bed bugs!!Very restricted for elderly/disabled, no lifts, no walk-in showers in any rooms, no ground floor rooms, a lot of trip hazards/steps.This hotel is suitable for individuals with backs of steel, good leg muscles and have good balance, ice skaters will do well, also those who have the stomach of a pig and enjoy eating breakfast leftovers for lunch and the most bizarre food combinations for dinner, vegetarians, vegans, pescatarians etc keep well clear because you are not recognised at this hotel. If you fancy a drink during the day, be prepared to hang around the tiny reception to place your order and collect your drinks, nowhere to sit or socialise as already mentioned no lounge/bar area, no seating of any sort apart from dining room. If it wasn't for our drivers and the planned day trips getting us out of there, we would have left, we will not be returning here again.

    Unforgettable

    rating28 Nov 2019

My wife and I visited on our 40th wedding anniversary because we were looking for something special and we weren't disappointed. We chose a Shearings Fly/Tour package and everything was really well organised and run on their part. More later. The hotel is simply stunning, location-wise is just magnificent. Some of the current photos don't do it justice so I've added my more recent ones. The whole trip was well organised and executed. Our drivers were excellent and the coach load of tourers got along brilliantly. The evening events, trips and own time were great and we would love to go back again soon. The highlight of the entire trip was undoubtedly Stefan. Those on the trip would know exactly what I mean by that. His work rate was something to behold and nobody went hungry - or thirsty - on his shift, which was every evening. Nothing was too much trouble for him. Worth is weight in gold.A beautiful hotel in the truest spirit of Austrian hospitality.Warning though. There were no tea/coffee making facilities in the rooms. You could however ask for hot water for your room - nothing was too much trouble for the staff.Oh and the hotel, like the rest of Austria, was absolutely spotless.

Beautiful hotel & location, exemplary service, great holiday

    rating14 Oct 2019

Stylish, attractive, peaceful, well-maintained hotel nestling in the Tyrolean Alps. The spacious, comfortable bedrooms, all of which have private balconies, command impressive views of the beautiful mountains. The staff gave exemplary service: friendly, helpful, and attentive (special plaudits for Stefan). The food was terrific, all well-cooked, and the meat--which was sourced from the owners' farm--was especially tasty (and included venison, veal, pork, chicken, and even rump steak). . Drinks were also plentiful. The dining hall is large and attractive, and boasts a stage where local music and dance was performed--very pleasant entertainment. The hotel was spotlesly clean throughout, and there was a sense of pride evident in the attention to detail. Very impressed! It proved the perfect base from which to explore an area of exceptional beauty and interest.

Typical Austrian hotel with friendly staff beautiful room and balcony kept spotlessly clean, food choice was a little limited but all was well cooked and tasty. I visited this hotel with a shearings holiday some drinks were included in the package and the staff were always on hand to serve. There was also a Tyrolean evening that was very entertaining.I would not hesitate to return to this hotel

    Beautiful hotel in the Tirol

    rating20 Sept 2019

We recently stopped at Hotel Neuwirt for 6 nights as part of our Shearings holiday. What a super comfortable family run hotel. The staff were very friendly and efficient, the rooms large, clean and airy. The food was first class. We had entertainment a couple of times. Thank you for a lovely stay.
