Comfortable hotel in the centre of town

    rating18 Apr 2026

A very friendly, rather sprawling hotel in the centre. Very convenient for the ski bus and only a 7 minute walk to the Gondola if you prefer. We stayed 7 nights on a ski package and enjoyed our stay. We had two rooms, a suite and a single. Service is very informal and friendly. Dress code at dinner is smart casual, probably bordering more on casual in my view. The food is very good and a decent selection of choice. The wine list isn't extensive but has some good options. Afrodite is lovely and helpful. She ensured any dietary requirements were adhered to. We had room 111, a junior suite which was very spacious and of course, being Austria, very clean. Lounge area comfortable and a balcony off it although no chairs to sit on outside. Curious. The bed was comfortable. Heating can be controlled and really good to have windows you can open. There is a fridge, kettle and bottled water daily. Bring your own teas/coffee as nothing is offered. Interesting compared to our usual stays at similar rated hotelsBathroom was a decent size, plenty of towels and shower pressure good. There is a hairdryer on the wall and the speed was quite good for this type of product. The spa area is good, very clean and well looked after. Water is available. Again, with a risk of repetition for this standard of hotel we are used to teas and flavoured water plus fruit and nuts being offered in the spa. The hotel offers access to the Alpen Therme complex via a corridor. You are given an access bracelet which can also be used to load up money so you can spend in the restaurant. Any credit remaining is refunded. This complex is good. The fabric free sauna/ pool area is great.Bath robes are extra at 15eu / week. This is annoying. I'd much rather they were included and have the cost absorbed in the rate. For a hotel of this rating I would expect a robe plus slippers in any event. The ski and boot rooms are well located downstairs. The bus stop is 50m, turn left out of the ski room. The ski area is very good with lots of long, wide well groomed runs. I'd certainly consider returning to this Ski area, Ski Armade.

This is out 3rd year to the same comfy, clean beatutiful hotel and for sure we will come back as soon as possible. The food is always tasty and with actual taste of quality ingredients, Matias from the restaurant with the perfect service completes the stay and always with a smile - for that thank you Matias ( and Janos :)). Location is perfect, close to the bus and at 3 minutes from the Schlossalm bahn. Rooms are cleaned daily which is excelent, bathrobs and towels changed daily, for me and my last 25 years of travel this hotel is in my top 3 !

What a wonderful stay. The staff were so friendly and helpful and the moment we walked in to when we left we were treated so well. Special mention to Afrodite who looked after us and made the stay extra special. We would love to come back one day

    Excellent hotel and staff

    rating15 Feb 2026

Reviews regularly mention how good the staff are at this hotel which is fully justified. It really can make all the difference to the experience.Arriving after the usual dinner time schedule, we were put straight in to the dining area and had a superb meal. The food here really is above and beyond what we have previously expected on a ski holiday and is worthy of a 5 star hotel rather than 4.The room we had was more spacious than usual with a kitchen area, fridge, cooker etc for those self catering, even though we went half board. There is a spacious balcony with partial Mountain View.Ski and boot room is convenient, 50 yards from the ski bus stop.I would recommend dorfgastein and sportgastine as ski areas that we preferred, both easily reached by the excellent ski bus service. The spa area is also fantastic and not too busy.Bad Hofgastein is the only ski area that we have returned to and would recommend. It isn’t a lively resort but it suited us.As far as value, quality, location and friendly staff go, this is as good as you are likely to find.

    Simply the best.

I very rarely go back to the same hotel twice but decided to go again after the great experience I had last year. Walking into reception felt like going home, greeted by a friendly smile and a ‘welcome back’.I knew what to expect but I have to say it’s got even better. Everyone we spoke to said what a wonderful hotel this is and that the staff are just amazing. Attentive to the point that they remember what you are drinking. In my case it’s the Franziskaner beer, especially what was now called the brown beer.Food was and is excellent, breakfast can be a bit manic and I personally think the toaster needs moving as it becomes a bit of a bottle neck in the area it is situated. I can’t comment on the spa area as I didn’t use them but plenty people did. What makes this hotel special is all of the staff, Afrodite was our waitress and is excellent at her job. And I’m sure all the other staff are excellent as well but thank you Afrodite for making our time special.I will be back next year so make sure the brown beer is in stock..
