    Surprisingly quiet

    rating24 Dec 2025

Welcoming and modern box-shaped hotel in central Innsbruck just by the old town. Convenient for everything in the city, and close to all the comprehensive transport modes which make getting around Innsbruck so easy.We stayed in a third floor suite overlooking the roof of an adjacent mall, but also with an alpine view in the distance. Our room seemed like two rooms remodelled into one, and the symmetry was obvious once inside. Two bathrooms were adjacent to two doorways (one permanently locked) off an inner corridor, whilst the ample wardrobe on one side was a reflected by a kitchenette on the other. In the main part of the room, the large, firm bed had separate large and medium duvets which were usually flung off as it was always so warm at night despite the thermostat. Not far from the end of the bed was a large tv plus console and behind this, a small lounge area. The bathrooms were always warm, with heated floors too. No separate shower, just a piece of apparatus over the bath which proved effective coupled with the advantage of no leakage through the large shower screen. We also appreciated the new and sensible hairdryers.Overall, a comfortable room with the important bonus that there was no noise whatsoever thus guaranteeing a good uninterrupted night’s sleep; quite impressive considering the hotel’s position. Separately, the hotel seems quite new and is still in good shape with the housekeeping team maintaining a high standard internally.Breakfast is taken in an extension of the top floor bar area. I don’t think that I’ve ever seen such a diverse display of produce, to the extent that there were dishes of fruit that I’d never even heard of. Very well organised with plenty of tables and willing staff, and items are refilled speedily if they get low. Like many places, they are rather shy about mentioning bespoke egg options. In the evening, the bar is a popular venue for non-residents and can get quite busy, although the staff are both alert and friendly. Note that draft beer is sold in sub-500ml measures. We didn’t have a lot to do with the Reception staff or lobby. The layout of the ground floor is such that you can enter the hotel and head towards the lift and avoid Reception altogether. There are loads of restaurants nearby and, as mentioned, transport is easily accessible and logical to use and spreads well beyond the city centre. No tourist will ever get tired of the constant Alpine views either side of the City which enhances the attraction of Innsbruck as a surprisingly worthwhile destination. We’re glad that we visited and we would certainly stay at the Penz again if we ever returned.

Very convenient in the heart of Innsbruck

    rating12 Oct 2025

I stayed three nights with my wife in September 2025 at The Penz. The architecture is modern and stands out from the surrounding central district. The hotel offers every convenience: easy underground parking, spacious and comfortable rooms, and breakfast on the top floor with sweeping views of the city — featuring an incredible selection that will please even the most demanding guests. In short, a smart choice for exploring Innsbruck from a central location.

All hotels should be like the penz.

This hotel is the personification of perfection, the staff throughout the hotel are incredibly friendly and professional, ensuring everyone has the best experience. This hotel is the perfect size, providing rooms with style and class, as well as comfortable beds and a perfectly sized bathroom. The breakfast was exceptional, providing a variety of meats, bread, traditional pastries, exotic fruits, yoghurts, juices and coffee. With this hotel being right in the heart of innsbruck, you are a stones throw away from everything there is to experience in a city. Everywhere in the city is easily walkable from the hotel. This hotel does not have a gym, however they provide access to their sister hotel’s gym and wellness spa for no extra charge, this is just round the corner and easy to access. The gym was not great, with dumbbells only ranging from 2.5-10kg and some average cardio machines. However, the spa is brilliant, providing two saunas, a steam room, and a relaxation area.Overall, I would recommend this hotel, for anyone who is looking for a quiet room in the heart of the city, with sensational breakfast and atmosphere.
