Location

The location of the hotel offers a perfect combination: in a green part of the city (Hellbrunn is within walking distance) and nevertheless very close to the city centre, so that guests have the ideal point from which to start experiencing the city or to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. Guests have a choice of 76 rooms, including 9 single rooms and 27 double rooms, located in two 3-storey buildings with lifts. Multilingual staff (English, German, French) at the reception desk in the lobby are happy to answer any questions. Amenities include a baggage storage service, safe, cash machine and drinks machine. Wireless internet access in public areas allows guests to stay connected. The tour desk offers assistance with booking excursions.     The Good1) hairdryer, decent shampoo, decent shower gel provided2) quick service for extra towels & pillow despite she being the solo person at front office What is LACKING1) no kettle or hot water dispenser (only 1 sole kettle at front office)2) breakfast spread and variety- often running out of replenishment from the already limited range - eg, 2 types of juices, water ran out - had to request staff to topup. Glasses were out too.3) service - extremely rude lady wait staff at the morning breakfast hour - I got screamed at for helping myself to serviettes at the side table, despite me explaining that another wait staff had spilled juices on me4) no in-room phone (imagine guests are expected to run down to front desk to requests for towels, topup of toilet rolls!)4) no fitness room, sauna or poolWhat is EXTRA1) cobwebs on the ceiling of a room in Level 3

    Stopped for a quick overnight sleep and breakfast.Staff was very nice and I appreciated that I could park in a parking garage.The room was a single room (although a double bed), had a nice desk, a tv and a bathroom that met my requirements.Breakfast buffet was simple but good.Would stay there again, mainly because the staff was nice and the room clean :-)

    The stuff was so nice. Hotel from the outside is beautiful. Everything was clean. The rooms were just a little bit old, on the carpet were old stains..The bed on the second floor of our apartment was too soft and absolutely uncomfortable, but the bottom one was great. Room was big, had everything we needed. Wifi didn't work but i don't care about it. One big minus i had to give was breakfast...Not many things to choose from but that would be ok if they had glasses, plates, bowls. Everything was missing and it took them a long time to give us another ones. They were chaotic and kinda rude when we asked for something.I'm giving this hotel 4 stars, it was a good experience with just small issues.

    I stayed here last week as part of a group touring Austria, and this hotel is much better than the reviews suggest. The reception staff were very friendly and extremely helpful. Nothing was too much trouble for guests. There was an excellent choice for breakfast, and also for dinner, especially for the vegetarian and vegan members of our party. The wifi was excellent all round. The Purrist bistro was good for pre-dinner drinks,and after 9 pm they were available from the reception desk. Overall I enjoyed my stay and also the beautiful city of Salzburg.

    I stayed here as a part of a larger tour (I did NOT choose this place and would not have based on the reviews here). I can confirm many of the details in the average to negative reviews. First note, make sure to tell your cab driver it's "Hotel Schaffenrath" NOT Amadeo. They will take you to the wrong place and the signage does not say Amadeo.When we arrived, there was literally NO ONE in the hotel (guests or staff) and it took the staff about 10 min to even acknowledge us at the desk. Our room was not ready, yes we were a couple of hours early, but we were literally the only ones in the building. To kill some time we went to McDonald's across the street and came back. Still was not ready. We asked to use the "fitness center" which is basically an empty space on another floor (that was hotter than a sauna) with some basic equipment just thrown in a corner. It was impossible to workout due to no AC. Positive note - there is a nice terrace on that floor which we used to get some air. We had to wait the full couple of hours and tbh the room was not clean and I have no idea what takes so long to get it ready. The rooms are very outdated and are really poorly planned in terms of use of space. Our room was SO hot when we arrived and the AC is SO weak it barely qualifies as "working". We kept the windows wide open and had to request a fan. Note on that, there were dead bugs all over the window sills, on the INSIDE. Took me two seconds to wipe with a tissue, I don't know why the cleaning staff could not have done that. Make sure to ask for a suite with the open-concept vs separate bedroom. Those rooms were even hotter and my family members ended up sleeping on couches.The service here was terrible, there was no one there working when the full group arrived in the evening and the keys were just left on the desk in a folder. Anyone could have grabbed them. The positive here? The free breakfast.
